FSW Fall 2015

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

I had trouble at first as well switch your search to group that's how I found it.

Anyone know if the TB test is covered by personal insurance?

I'm not sure if we have to have them done at a certain place but the health department does the skin tests for 20$ I believe.

Also, has anyone heard anything about when we're supposed to be getting the packets? Or even when they're mailing them out?

Lee staff assistant said that no emails have gone out yet but we should be hearing before the end of the month.

They are sending out another email? I thought we were waiting for info in the mail?

I just called and the woman on the phone isn't the most pleasant woman to speak to. She sounds incredibly irritated by any question posed to her. I asked her when the status would change to nursing student, so that we can register. She said all of the background checks, etc. need to be checked out and sorted through and then they will send out admission packets with information. So pretty much, no information is given. If they atleast gave of some information or some timelines or something, they wouldn't have people calling with so many questions. So it's a waiting game at this point.

When I spoke with them last week (day before we all got the aporoved note "yes, for placement) the women told me that the goal was to notify us by EMAIL within 2 weeks. We will get an email saying that we are accepted and to watch for the welcome packets in the mail. So that would be "hopefully" by Friday (the email atleast)

I agree if they dont want to be irritated with dumb questions, they should have answers. We are in limbo and I think we deserve to know an exact time frame. It seems like are kinda disorganized.

Imo, it doesnt take much to sort through background checks. I mean if you are cleared then you are accepted if not move on. What's so hard about that?
