FSCJ Fall 2012

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to start a new topic since it doesn't seem there are any discussions yet about anyone who is applying to the Nursing program for Fall 2012. I'm a little nervous right now b/c I will still be enrolled in Micro when I apply. Without Micro I will have a 189. I'm still going to apply (with my fingers crosse) in hoped I get in or even get a call from someone denying. If I end up with at least a B I'll have 201 total points. From what I've read a 201 should be guaranteed but then I'd have to wait until Spring. Fingers crossed a 189 w/o Micro will be enough for Fall! I'm so ready to start this program. Nervous & excited. Any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated =)

I am lost as to what cpr class we need! is it the BLS one?

required FSCJ class is HED0300 BLS/CPR, it can be done in one 8 hour day at the FSCJ North campus, well mine only had 6 students so we were done in about 6 hours. You get your AHA card same day, the class covers use of AED, adult and child CPR. and honestly, you dont need the book, we never opened it but buy it if you just want something to read or borrow a used one from another student.the mask is needed tho.

Is anyone else concerned that it says the Physical Exam must be done by the 2nd of July? I didnt even get my packet until the 3rd!

I noticed that too, but I'm just assuming it is a typo since the congrats letter itself was dated July 2 lol. There seems to be a few mistakes/typos in the packet.

and whats the deal with the code for the background check?

Everyone should have received a 2nd letter with the codes today.

I'm in I'm in!!! So excited!! I can't wait! Congrats to all of you as well! ?

How much do you have the books for sale for? I am pretty interested. Are they in good condition? :) Thanks!

Congrats to all who made it in! I got in as well...this is going to be expensive, but well worth it!!

Congratulations to all who made it in! I'll be applying for entry next Summer semester and am sooo excited! I am going into A&P and Micro this Fall and was curious if any of you still had one or both of those books that you would be willing to sell or loan to me?! They are so darn expensive!! Thanks in advance! :heartbeat

I have both books but only willing to part with the micro book, but to be sure, do you know the exact book that you need?

For all of you that took the NAT I am trying to find out what exactly should i study. I have the Nursing school and allied health entrance exams book by Peterson and i do not know if it is a waste of time studying or does it really help. What did yall use and can anybody give me a good description of what was on the test please!! Thanx

I used the Allied Health book and used it to brush up on my math skills. The math is very basic math that you don't think about since you use a calculator in every day life (which you can't use on the test) so I'd suggest brushing up on the math if that isn't your strong suit.

Good Luck!
