Rose Queen hope the tensions at work settle down

Tweety glad work wasn't too bad

Dianah I agree, pies are time consuming

Stars glad you weren't injured in the fall

Was a good day at work yesterday. Neither the meeting nor the side project take as long as expected, and I got no new cases. After work was pretty calm too, just had the haircut and that was it

Today should be calm at work, no side project and no new meetings, although there could be a new case. Nothing going on after work except exercise

Another cooler day in the low 80s, will be the third day I don't have to use AC

It is morning.Tinker has been walked, has done her business and had her breakfast. I am barely awake, and doing my due diligence by playing with her 'honking squirrel' in a game of tug-o-war, as she wants to play after every meal.

Today's Gypsy Itinerary du Jour is inexplicably in the finger joints of the left hand, which had nothing to do with the fall 2 days ago. Also the knees. I've taken my meds and the Arnica and am about to sip some hot coffee to bring my brain around to a more wakeful state.

The floor of my room desperately needs to be cleared of a week's worth of my shedded hairs, the dog's fur, and dust. I need to pick up a refill at the pharmacy, do laundry, and resume the search for my hearing aids, remake my bed, and try to straighten up this unholy mess.

Today's spam calls are getting a different response to their recorded question: "Are you there?" --- "No, I am not here." and hanging up. If I recognized the numbers I would simply hang up before the recorded messages even got started, however I have not been paying attention to the incoming call numbers, but that will change soon.

Meanwhile, I am waiting for the AM meds to kick in. The weather doesn't matter, it is always hot and humid, with a good chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

J. has been wanting me to go on a driving tour of the area(s), and if S. is willing to do the driving, I will sit in the back seat of the truck and let them do that....merely because I hurt today and sitting still would be the very thing to do.

You prolly can tell I am having trouble summoning spit or any enthusiasm for the day about to unfold in front of me, but I am hoping the coffee will bring me around and I will reconnect with my pleasant demeanor.

So, that is my morning post, and you are welcome to it!

I'm baaack. As you can imagine, it has been a busy time being back in the office this week. The visit with Hubs' friend (I mean, he's my friend, too, but they've been friends a very long time) and his grandson was brief and pleasant. They had their morning of sailing. I finally kicked it in gear and made real progress on the house so it looked pretty good when they were here. We purchased new curtains for the living room and I think they look nice. Also purchased an umbrella for our patio table and I like it. The house does still smell like that darn cat.

I'm excited about Joe's new cat! We like our black cat, enough to put up with his territorial marking issues. I still have a lot to do around the house and will tackle that phase next.

A belated happy birthday to Stars! Sorry you took a tumble but glad there was no serious damage.

dianah, I'm going to have to try that salad. It sounds good. And low-carb.

That blood draw that I came in to do last week showed an increase in my LDL but my HDL and triglycerides are still really good. And my A1C was 5.6, which was an improvement. Guess I'll keep doing the low-carb diet. But I must confess that yesterday I didn't. My book club met in the evening and there were yummy salads (including a fruit salad) and COOKIES. I can't always say no to cookies!

Welcome back, Ado! And I agree, when one is trying to "do" lo-carb eating, SOME things are SO hard to resist!!

I made the Mediterranean salad and it's marinating in the fridge (and Ado, if you ask about amounts of each? I made a nice-sized salad -- probably would feed 4 or 6 -- from 1/2 cauliflower, 1/2 bell pepper, one avocado, 20 [or so] grape tomatoes, half a jar of medium black olives, one full jar of marinated artichoke hearts plus their 'juice' [cut 'em up a little, to be bite-sized] and 1/3 jar of pimento green olives). I also cleaned out the toaster oven, and mopped the kitchen floor. I need to get the laundry started, too.

I ordered a beeswax wood repair 'salve' and have tried it on a couple of our oak kitchen cabinets. They are the originals, been up for 40+ years (and they were starting to look tired and worn). I've treated them twice or three times, through the years. This is another treatment, and the few I've treated look pretty good. So, now that means I "get" to do every cabinet door in the kitchen!! Yay me!

Jackie the Big Bear eagle is still in the care of an Ojai raptor rescue center, being treated for anemia and kidney issues. No lead poisoning has been found, and Xrays found no hooks or lead fishing weights. She is eating, perching, and apparently is quite feisty with the staff -- all good signs, to me! I hope she is soon able to be released back to her home. Her partner Shadow and the two eaglets (who have fledged but not yet dispersed) are holding down the territory.

Big Bear, BTW, has good news today! The drive to raise 10 million dollars to purchase the "Moon Camp" area, to ensure the eagles have wilderness close to them (and not development encroaching on their nesting area) -- reached their goal! At the last count, 5 million, 500 thousand had been raised (grassroots), and a couple then donated an additional $5.5 million to the project! This news brought tears to my eyes! Soon that piece of property will be secured, thanks to all who contributed, whether 50 cents or 5 million dollars! So exciting!

Well, I better get the laundry started. Have a good evening and a good weekend!

Good evening.

Stars, I thought I read all the posts and don't remember a fall. Hope you're okay.

I love those odd aches and pains not. I must have joined the gypsy club because this week it was my wrist at the palm. Don't know where that came from but it seems better now. Although had an ache behind my left shoulder blade. Had that before. Getting old.

Welcome back Ado.

Hooray for generous donors to the Eagles!

Happy belated birthday to Stars.

I've been watching the saga of Jackie the eagle. I think their life expectancy in the wild is quite short, so it's remarkable that she has survived this long. Good to see the eagles will have some protection.

I had my routine 5 year colonoscopy. 2 polyps found, just like the last 2 times. Glad that's behind me, LOL.

I'm going for a walk shortly. It's actually cool enough for the first time in a week.

We have another plumbing issue. One of the toilets won't flush, and I think we have to order parts. I may need to install part of it, because my hands are smaller.
