Foreign NCLEX application in IL...help :(

Hi fellow nurses! I am just starting with my NCLEX application process and I am encountering lots of problems :( . I tried to read threads but some are outdated way back 06's and made me more confused. So here's the thing. I am a licensed Filipino nurse but currently residing in IL. I tried to call Continental testing lots of times but always get directed to voicemail. Maybe you guys can help me...

1. I requested CT-NUR at PRC and they gave it back to me after I filed it up. I thought it said do not return to applicant? Can I myself send it to Continental Testing or I don't need it cause my CES report indicates my licensure validity? (What I realized in here is that I downloaded the form on Continental Testing website saying to return to the applicant and it is different from the one in IDFPR that indicates do not return to applicant. Besides that there is no difference at all. This is very confusing :(

2. On the 4-page application form on part III, It was asking how many years in college did I completed, you see I transferred fr 2 different schools, should I just do the same thing I did on my CES report and only indicate my school where I graduated and my years there?

3. Also, on part III, what should I put on the specialized training? I totally have no idea.

4. On part VII, what should I answer on a-b-c?

5. Can I get my fingerprint even though I haven't passed my application on CT?

6. And lastly, after you completed all the requirements, how long did it took you before you receive your ATT? (Just a survey) cause I don't know when to quit my job so I can concentrate on studying.

Any answers would really be helpful! I'm so clueless, I needed some guidelines. THANK YOU!!!

    Yeah PRC is so primitive. I just arranged for someone to get paper works for me last week and they also gave it to my rep instead of sending it themselves.

    What she did is buy PRC envelopes and used the DHL booth in PRC. They'd give you a price depending on the destination. This comes with a tracking number.

    I exchanged emails with someone from Continental Testing Services. CT-NUR form is no longer needed if it states in your CES that you are licensed in the Philippines.

    Note: The nclex application has a local RN license in the Philippines.

    I moved here 6 months ago, but keep hearing the excuse that orienting a foreign-trained nurse is too much trouble.

    That's pretty demoralising and I'm tired of hearing it.

    I'm seriously thinking of heading back to England. Only problem is that we now own a house here and my hubby has a job here.

    Thoughts?

    Skylark, its that Illinois doesn't need more nurses. Over 6000 new nurses are licensed just in Illinois yearly. There are many, many colleges with nursing programs in Illinois as well as many many experienced nurses living in Illinois...

    But the local ER here where I am has 5 jobs advertised. I was at a local job fair this week and overheard the recruiter telling a new grad "Come work in our ER, we always need staff and we'll take anyone".

    I have 10 years ER, and showed her my resume. She took one look and said "Oh, you're English. We don't need any ER nurses at the moment."

I understand that if you are a Visa Screen and CGFNS holder, you can waive the CES report. I am a CGFNS passer and Visa Screen holder since 2006. Now my question is: Can I just pass a photocopy of my CGFNS and VISA Screen Certificates to the BON? Or do I really need to request original copies of the said certificates and then have them mailed? Pls help, I really need some light. Thanks so much guys!

    Illinois BON would prefer an original copy of the report directly from CGFNS. It's uncommon for BON's to accept photo copies of credentials. Lol

    Thanks so much for this! Or can I order a VisaScreen ICHP certificate verification letter from CGFNS in lieu of my CES? As stated on the CGFNS website, "this is for verifying to a designated recipient that a Visa Screen Certificate was issued and an official letter is sent within 10 work days." Will this suffice? thanks so much again. :)

    No. I think you have to comply with whatever the Illinois BON's CGFNS specific requirement. The CGFNS is only an independent evaluating agency and is not directly under Illinois BON. And also the CES is different from a Visa Screen Certificate. But since your credentials are already with CGFNS, your CES (if you placed an order) shouldn't take that long.
