Hi! I just passed NCLEX-RN for about 2 weeks ago and I am lucky to land a job starting next week on a long term care facility. Can you guys give me tips or advice as I start my career like what would I expect or should watch out for. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. I am nervous of course because of the anxiety and the thought of would I be able to handle patients and all those nursing responsibilities with ease and excited as well for I am finally in the verge of helping others. :) I have heard lots of negative things about long term care facilities that makes me more anxious So a help from you guys would be great!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I would agree with nursebre. I took nclexrn last monday and was surprised that I encountered some questions that I passed on from Kaplan!

silverdragon is right. IL requires a US SSN, if you don't have that then you cannot apply. Try to look for other state that doesn't require US SSN.

you're applying for IL? I'm not sure about that but what I know is, IL requires an SS number.

Yes, you need to. Unless, you're a US citizen then I think it can be waived.

I had the same problem. I had PRC filled the CT-NUR that i downloaded from Continental testing and PRC gave it back to me cause it says "return to the applicant".Then later i found out that PRC should be the one who will send the CT-NUR in IL. The form from the IDFPR website states "Do not return to applicant". I was confused but what I did is, I just disregarded the former and applied the one from IDFPR (again) in PRC and I had it rushed so Continental testing received it in like after 3 days. So what I'm saying is, i think PRC is the one who will send the CT-NUR not you... :)

So here's the thing. I am a licensed Filipino nurse but currently residing in IL. I tried to call Continental testing lots of times but always get directed to voicemail. Maybe you guys can help me... 1. I requested CT-NUR at PRC and they gave it back to me after I filed it up. I thought it said do not return to applicant? Can I myself send it to Continental Testing or I don't need it cause my CES report indicates my licensure validity? (What I realized in here is that I downloaded the form on Continental Testing website saying to return to the applicant and it is different from the one in IDFPR that indicates do not return to applicant. Besides that there is no difference at all. This is very confusing 2. On the 4-page application form on part III, It was asking how many years in college did I completed, you see I transferred fr 2 different schools, should I just do the same thing I did on my CES report and only indicate my school where I graduated and my years there? 3. Also, on part III, what should I put on the specialized training? I totally have no idea. 4. On part VII, what should I answer on a-b-c? 5. Can I get my fingerprint even though I haven't passed my application on CT? 6. And lastly, after you completed all the requirements, how long did it took you before you receive your ATT? (Just a survey) cause I don't know when to quit my job so I can concentrate on studying. Any answers would really be helpful! I'm so clueless, I needed some guidelines. THANK YOU!!!

Hi becky,wouldnt I be questioned if in CES report I only have 1 school and then on the application two already? or it's already understood?Also, It is for examination, they gave it to me without a question. What should I do with it BTW, yesterday CGFNS sent me an email informing me that they mailed it on IDFPR/CT, so I think I'll just have to do the application next. ? Hi...I am currently waiting for cgfns to mail my CES report to Illinois and for what I know they require a local license here in IL.

Jeez, I heard it'll decrease the chance for passing in about 5% of the takers. Good luck to us!

Hi there again. I have a question when it comes to the HS diploma. Am I just gonna send my photocopied diploma alone on cgfns' address and that's it?

So how long did you study before your actual exam? I just bought my Saunders 5th ed and Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment today and I cant wait to read them all. :) Congratulations btw, Filipino nurses head up high
