Anybody have any situations where it was obvious a teacher was flirting with you. I'm not getting into specifics but I got a little freaked out by an incident. Not that i was scared of the flirting just that I worried because I feared retribution from not responding to it. I almost didnt pass clinical either. I've gotten all B's in the Nursing courses so far I had a high B in this class and up until the last week I'm flunking clinical. If anything I gained alot of respect for the women who have had to endure this type of thing for centuries.

Yeah Id proably go along with it too. If it gets too intimate, then report it. You will be protected, and the instructor won't have a leg to stand on. Hopefully this wouldn't have to progress to getting an attorney involved, but if it comes to it...

A little bit of flirting, if thats what it was, isn't in itself a bad thing. Where things cross the line is if anything romantic, sexual or advantageous occurs that benefits you grade wise.
Being a new (male) RN I had predominantly female teachers as well, I would always smile, nod and chuckle at their jokes and comments, like you would any teacher, or boss for that matter. Just watch yourself so that you are never in a position to have to defend what you have done and trust your judgment, if something "feels wrong" or if you have to second guess something - than something is probably wrong.

Have you ever watched a cat play with a mouse? :nuke: Kidding...
From my experience nurses do not beat around the bush...they hit you in the head with stick so you always know where you stand...Translation -- what you are experiencing is good ol' hospitality. It's how the masters of this profession set the world at ease...that's it.
If your instructor wanted something from you have no doubt she would ask...take it from a guy (Me) that spent a year on a Med-Surg floor, two years in the ED...I spent a lot of time with "The Girls". I thought it was flirting too...until I was trained properly. They just come right out and ask like we do. "Can I buy a drink after work?" Nurses are awesome!
Relax and enjoy the ride.

If you feel uncomfortable, then it isn't right. ALSO, there should never be involvement with a student and instructor! Wait until you are finished with school before getting involved. Report any inappropriate advances and keep a record of anything that may be affecting your grades.
