FIU ABSN Spring 2016

Do you guys know when are we able to know if we accepted or not? I am applying to associate program for fall semester in mdc, too. I am a little worried I won't be able to know whether I get accepted in FIU, and I will be attending mdc.

Yay! I'm so happy excited that we finally have a thread for this application cycle. I called recently and they said they will start reviewing our stuff this month so I guess we will be hearing back soon. I know my stats are good so I'm just trusting God to tak care of the rest. I also applied this cycle for the accelerated BSN program at FIU and I'm so nervous about getting an interview! I just want to be notified already! lol Has anyone heard anything yet? I went in to talk to an advisor last week and they told me that they would be in contact with us about now, but I still haven't heard anything so I was getting a little nervous. My stats a pretty good, so I'm just praying they'll give me a chance.

Haha I like the Hunger Games reference @msl2555 :) I haven't heard anything back yet either. Does anyone have a school email for FIU yet? I wouldn't think so since we are not accepted into the school until we are accepted into the nursing program, but I am just checking. I gave them my Gmail address so I've been checking that but like I said, I still haven't heard anything yet.

Anyone want to share their stats?

BS GPA overall: 3.5

Science GPA:4.0

TEAS: 90.7

I'm glad someone got my reference @LindseyS :) I don't have a school email either. When I talked to an advisor, she told me to just give my gmail address, so I'm in the same boat as you.

And my stats are:

BS Cumulative GPA: 3.3

Science GPA: 3.5

TEAS: 92.7

My GPA is on the lower end, but I also have a lot of hospital volunteer hours that I'm hoping will help boost my application a bit.

Hey I got this message from them on Friday, I'm guessing they sent it to everyone. I hope this means we will be hearing something more definitive soon. The email is pasted below.

Dear Applicant,

We wanted to reach out to you to notify you that we are still in the process of reviewing your application for entrance to the Accelerated Option BSN program within our college. You may have received a letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding a denial to the university, please disregard this letter. Due to the nature of our program, the application process does take some time, and because our program does not begin until the Fall MINI term, our system needs to be updated to reflect that for all of our applicants. We are expecting to reach the next step in our process (interviews) within the next month. Please keep an eye out for an email from us on whether you have been selected for an interview.

So still no word on interviews. This seems to be taking a really long time.

What did you do your BS in? I'm curious if they will take that into account.

No news here either. This is definitely taking a long time, I feel like I will hear back from FAU before FIU and their deadline was just last week. Did anyone else apply to any other schools?

BS is in Criminology lol but Im hoping my hospital experience and my current job as an M.A. will help. Fingers Crossed XX
