he should probably see his MD to determine how he should get off it.... is he not having the headaches anymore?

take care and i wish him luck

We can't give medical advice on this site. Refer your friend to his doc.

I also take Fioricet, but I don't take them only a daily basis. I only take them when I have my migraine, actually when I have my aura that's the only way the med will work. He should consult with his physician if he wants to stop taking it, or possibly switch to another medication.

sounds like he would have 2 b weaned off. kind of stuck on the time frame of when the body becomes dependent. he may b able 2 just stop because of the 2 month time frame then again his body may go into withdrawals. would love to hear a better answer.

Same here, I take it as well, but only when I have the "aura" which isnt very often at all. thanks for the responses :)

Your friend needs to see his primary care provider, or the one who prescribed the medication, for advice on this or any other medical matter.

It is beyond our scope of practice as nurses to offer medical diagnoses or advise anyone on health concerns. I wish your friend the best in dealing with his headaches, and suggest that he find a specialist who understands migraine, rather than rely on a highly addictive drug just to get through each day.

:)
