...am DONE! ...AND YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! My Probation Monitor gave me a gift of 1.5 months off early in OR! I thank you all for your support from the bottom of my heart...
Bitter sweet as CA (where I had an expired license in good standing at the time of the OR DUI charge almost 3 years ago now) came after me and gave me 3 years of more restrictive and more expensive probation. After struggling I voluntarily surrendered there recently. CA also turned me into the National Practitioner Data Base (NPDB), but my employer in OR said it was ok as it was for the same issue they knew about when they hired me.
I must remember that I will have a black mark on my license forever and there will be those states that won't license me or will slap me with probation and employers who won't hire me because I have previous discipline on my record...it stays there forever. I can handle a door slammed in my face or a cold shoulder or a "NO." I am tough.
Now my plan with my unencumbered license in OR is to apply for licensure in HI. We will see what happens...
I will check this site occasionally and will check my private messages.

Congrats and what happy news - You may also want to see about licensure in Alaska. Many folks I know winter in Hawaii and Summer in Alaska and love it.
Good luck to you - you have certainly paid your dues.

Hi,
First of all congrats on finishing the HPSP! I am about six months away from completion myself- what a wild ride it is.
Of course I am curious about the early completion. Was it a complete surprise? Did they send you the notice of approval of completion about 6 months before your graduation date?
I am happy wither way, but would obviously be thrilled to put the monitoring behind me :)
Bless you all and thank you. I only wish I would have found this support community earlier. I suffered alone before I found you.
In answer to your question: with 1.5 months to go in OR, my Probation Monitor was so sick at the krap CA was still putting me through that she said,"you deserve a break." Read my previous posts to experience the long and winding journey with CA.
Today I worked on the paperwork for my Hawaii license. At least I have an unencumbered license in Oregon. So grateful.
Love you all, Paid

Rosa09...Im on probation now also. In CA. Not drug related or crime related. An error in administering a medication. Came down very harsh. Cannot find anyone to hire me. Any suggestions?
congratulations! I can only imagine how good you must feel. I just got placed on probation and have had a horrible time. I'm in CA. Any advice on where to find work? I haven't had any luck and Im getting very discouraged. Mine was not drug or crime related. I actually made a mistake. No harm to the patient and I have always been in good standing everywhere I worked. I'm still reeling because of this. The whole process was completely unfair. Not winning...truly, there were mis-statements and one complete falsehood by the hospital. Never felt so frustrated and stressed ....this has been horrible.
