FCCJ Spring 2009

Hey all!

I was just trying to get in touch with anyone hoping to start the RN program at FCCJ in the Spring 2009 semester. Hopefully we can see what the points seem to be at or where they were for the Fall 2008 semester.

Look forward to talking!:nuke:

Thank you for the helpful information. If you have anymore info it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi guys! I'm very sorry to be interrupting your thread - but I got a friendly PM from MissWhitney and it won't let me reply to her! I just wanted to tell her thanks for the PM, and yes I'd love to get into SJRCC's RN program, but I'm just starting my prereqs this January. =)

The thing that I've noticed that I'm curious about for the schedules is in the syllabus for Nursing Concepts which has opened up on BB. I'm in section 9 and the syllabus for that class says we are only going to meet Face 2 Face for some of the classes, and it specifies which ones we are going to be in class and which ones online. I wonder if Pharmacology is going to be like that? It's really cool it we could end up with more days off.

Any ideas?

hi borntobe0312! both of the classes are hybrid classes and to my knowledge that is a class which you go on campus for half of the time and the remainder of the class is online. we should be going to class every wednesday of the semester. so instead of going two times a week, it is only one time.

if i am wrong, someone please correct me.

i just looked that the syllabus borntobe0312 and i see what you're saying. by the way it looks, we may not be meeting face to face --- many apologies. i'm going to ask nursing students that are in their second and third semesters and see what they say... and i'll repost.

The format for pharm can be different for different sections. I took the class online with the rest of the nights and weekends section. Some of the day sections had it online, others were hybrid, and others had it on campus and met like a regular class. So how you take the class may depend on which section you are in.

We had our concepts hybrid (we were the pilot group) and we met on random weeks. It would be every other week for a few weeks and then two weeks off and two weeks on. It really depends on your teacher, because I know our schedule changed some weeks.

So has everyone seen the email we just got from Ms. Emily? The one stating that we will be required to wear the Blue shirt and Khaki pants to EVERY class??? This is kind of bothersome to me, and now we're going to have to go and buy more shirts and khakis! AHHHH! More money!

That's ridiculous. If they want us to wear special uniforms to class, they should provide them free of charge. And then to spring it on us a couple weeks before the term starts is outrageous! I bet those people we bought the polo shirts from don't even have enough for us all to buy more shirts. This has got to be one of the most disorganized, most poorly run nursing programs in the country! They have had so much of my paperwork messed up, it's not even funny. Not to mention the bad attitudes you have to deal with from the people that work in the department. Sorry I just have to vent!:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire

Hey guys! Well, another email just came thru --- if there is a silver lining... here it is... Classroom uniform is recommended for spring term but will be required for all 4 terms beginning summer 2009... I hope this eases everyone a bit...

This is our time to relax and prepare for what is ahead... Enjoy the holiday season with your family and friends... Then, come January it's all business...

i have begun to read the emails sent to me from the nursing program.

did anyone else see the irony in the email sent on 10 dec ?

mrs. barrett wanted you all to know that the following materials to be forwarded to you will be delayed:

the student handbook

the time management schedule

the slides that she spoke about during orientation

emily

can anyone explain what the attachment in the email on 15 dec is all about? this is the first time i am hearing or reading anything regarding hesi, and what have we done so far that we can test on?

this is the excerpt from the attachment in the email dated 15 dec

just a reminder: over the holidays you may have time to do your personalized remediation for each hesi that you have taken in the program so far. here’s how you do this:

hi don... the dec 15 email with the attachment that you are speaking of is an email for term 2, 3, and 4 students for spring term. i'm not sure why they sent it to term 1 students -- it is fccj and at times their organizational skills are lacking.

as for students in section 10... i bought id cases and clips -- they only came in a pack of 12, no singles... so if you guys need one i have 11 to spare. just let me know and i'll give it to you when classes start.
