FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

Yeah..I was thinking everything is quite expensive. So once we get our letters it would be great to get to know each other and do something to help with all our school expenses.

okay its june 10th everyone!! I am telling myself (hopefully) in exactly ONE MONTH we will have our acceptance letters in our mailboxes....if not already opened and patched on the fridge for everyone to see.:D Good luck everyone and breathe!

o yea one more question...anybody think they will update artemis with acceptance before one gets their letter? like for instance in the degree audit section where there are 'x's checked for things you have completed towards your degree?? just wondering

Welcome WaitonAug08!!!!

I have no idea if artemis will be updated. That is a good question. I would just wait until we get our acceptance letters. I'm sooo excited and am dying to know if I got in. Good luck and hope you get in too!!!

No they will not update artemis before you get your acceptance letter. I tried checking before I got mine and it was always the same. If I remember correctly they didn't update artemis untill after orientation because you can't even start unless you get all the requirements done before school starts.

As far as working full-time while in school I am in my first term doing nights and weekends and I know many people who are working full-time HOWEVER..... there are several people in my class who had employers that SAID they would be flexible but when it came down to it many of them were not. I've heard of several situations where an employer told someone they had to pick school or their job. Eveyone has picked school of course. Some people have found other jobs.

As far as the schedule the ones for this semester are posted in the hallway. BUT they change every semester. The nights and weekends class before us had a completely different schedule than we do. I'm told the days can change just as much. You can get an idea of how long classes are gong to be and how many days you will have to go but as far as the times and days it all changes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the only thing that doesn't change is that testing is on Mondays. Not sure if the times for testing change though.

Pre-Orientation Gathering sounds great!

It's hard to believe that it's already been 2 weeks since I turned my stuff in. Geeesh.

Any ideas of where you guys want to go?

I know...its crazy!! I can't wait. We could meet somewhere like Panera. What part of town is everyone from? I could meet somewhere off of Blanding or Roosevelt (17).

That sounds great to me. I'm from the Argyle area, out where Oakleaf Plantation is at.

Panera sounds good to me as well.
