FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

i wonder if it "good" to try and do your clinicals at different sites or stick with just one... I'm saying this because, if you go to different hospitals, you get a feel of the environment, and you can kinda guess which one you would like to work in... but if you stick with one particular hospital, they might see how you work, and decide to hire you there...

oh lol, thats not funny, okay... maybe a little! I didnt catch that haha! well I looked up our teachers on rate my professor and it looks like mcullough isnt a very great one! but the good news is ive done health assesments a million of times in the army as a medic and ive had time with the sims as well so it shouldnt be all that hard with the head to toe assessments, but it does seem like its a self taught class cause the teacher from posters is said to be not all that much help.....but who knows, maybe we can badger her to death!!!

I am in 9, I guess I am the odd girl out. I wanted St. Vincents and Wednesdays off due to early release and Catechism night. Now it is just waiting for 9am tomorrow so I can offically print out my schedule! I am a little concerned since I cannot find anything on Gill and 2 of the other teachers have so-so ratings. Oh well I needed the schedule that fit the best and will make the best of the teachers and I have 23 other students suffering through it with me! lol

Hey girl I'm in 9 too!!:yeah: We'll have to meet up at the BIG test on the 25th lol... laterz jenn

Yeah, I am not the only one. Guess we will have each other!! I am just so geeked that I got St. Vincents since it is 5 miles from my house and not far from my kids school!:wink2:

OOOO!! I know who I'm going to for help in that class!! I'm feeling excited again. My husband and I talked and he was mad at first but we finally came to the conclusion that if they don't want to work with me there are plenty of other jobs out there. I have an A.A., I should be able to find something that works mornings or weekends. If all else fails we just have to make it through that first semester, then I can be a CNA part time while in classes.

Tsayuga :: or you can be a sitter...they do less, but they pay more than a CNA. I can pm you with a few agencies.

Hey everyone. What a long freaking day!! So I'm caught up on the posts, I picked section 2 (me and you Amber) and unfortunately I only got to meet Kim. I kinda felt like an idiot going allnurses? LOL. Anyways all is well and good and I am exhausted. Sweet dreams everyone!

lol...I feel u FloridaRNtobe!! I was dragging at work tonight, even though my coworker's were wondering where the energy was coming from. That was alot to take in today. When I left North Campus my AC decided not to work on a day like this :(..So that needs fixing bright and early in the morning. I also have a wisdom tooth coming in and I think I will have to get it removed..it hurts like crazy. Other than that my day was great!! It was sooo nice seeing everyone!! Has anyone gotten the handbook e-mail on artemis yet??

Oh and I am in section 11..woohoo. I work at Baptist Downtown, so I know the hospital quite well and it will be convenient to go to work right after clinicals..lol.

well hope everyone has a good night!!!

nurse-n-2010, floridarn2be, molse001, ..we're gonna have to get you to change your profile from "pre-nursing" student to "nursing"...we've made it into the big leagues!! :nurse:

***i must have been really bored to notice that. that means i have too much time on my hands and i probably need to be studying the calc or something :)

Hey everyone. I'm in section 8. Anyone else?

So, I went to register this morning and it says I'm not admitted in to the program and can't. Anyone else have this problem? I knew registration couldn't be this easy.

Hi jlike, yes, I'm having the same problem. Took me awhile to get someone on the phone but the enrollment person said we're all having the same problem and Ms. James is trying to fix it. So don't freak out, it's not us. I'm going to try in the early afternoon again.
