FCCJ Fall 2008

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am sooooo looking forward to December 7th!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are almost half way there. Whew!!!

Just a word of advice: Take Peds before OB. OB was such cake and Peds requires a lot of your time. You do not have 7-7 for OB, but you do have them for Peds. goood luck guys! I loooove Wolfson, so I hope to work there when I graduate with my BSN.

Half way and I bet the hardest has yet to come. But still, there is something to be said for it, like..."Come on December 7th!"

Im going into Term 3 sec 10. Was wondering if anyone was interested in switching. I really need OP sec 5 due to childcare issues. Thank you!!

Hey there you soon to be third term-ers! My classmates and I are going into the 2nd semester and a few of them have started selling back their books... I thought the books were for the entire 16 month program..What books do we need and which ones can we toss to get some money back in our pockets?! Thanx for the info

Toss the concepts book! I lent my Jarvis book to a 1st termer (haven't needed that one) haven't opened my pharm book either. I would hold on to the Diagnosis handbook (definitely need!) and the lab test and drug books. The techniques book is nice to have laying around but I only opened it once during term 2. Also haven't opened the medical terminology book either since 1st term and only the dosage calc book right before I took the dosage calc tests in term 2. It's good for brushing up if you need it. The Tabers is a life saver for all those pesky words you need to know. Good luck in term 2!

sweet..thanks for the info! good luck with the last couple of terms...cant wait to be in your shoes!

Thanks for the advice. I start Peds Monday...look forward to getting the hardest one finished with first. I actually work at Wolfson's already, but not sure if I want to stay there. It will be nice to see everything from a nurses perspective. Good luck with Adult Heatlh II and Transformations this summer. You're almost there!!!!!!

Thank you!! I hope I get the chance to meet all of you before I graduate!!

BTW, working at Wolfson's will really help you with Peds, especially if you do not have any kids. They ask a lot of questions about growth and development. On the second test, study more about respiratory than the heart because everyone was freaking out about the heart and there were way more resp. questions. Send me a PM if you need any help!! I got an "A" in Peds but I know a few people who did not pass it.

Hey, does anyone have any good study guides for PEDS they would like to share or pass down to a fellow student??

Hey I am going into Peds and saw on the syllabus that we need to have 11 community service hours. Is this a typo? If we need that many any suggestions? I have some decent study guides for OB if anyone needs them. Did anyone find any sg for Peds? Any suggestions or tips to get through it are surely appreciated! I didn't check this forum until after I decided to take OB first. Good luck to everyone with their finals!! We are almost there and congratulations to all term 4 graduates!!

We had to have 10 when I was in Peds, but I heard you guys only have to do 2. If no one replies, I will check with Macke and let you know! =)
