FCCJ Fall 2008

I totally went to the beach tonight! It was awesome! We left when there were three green flashes in the sky. The waves were so strong!! I can't even count the amount of times I was knocked off my feet. Lots of fun, but we definately had to leave before it got too bad. I'm trying to do as much fun stuff as I can before everything, but I guess it is studying time now!!

Does anyone know are we allowed to use calculators? I was going to buy one but realized I didn't know. That would help with the fractions...

I'm excited and nervous about starting. It's going to be tough to juggle with small children (kudos to you guys with jobs!). Section 11 all the way, baby!

Yes we can but not scientific. I bought a tiny calculator that fits in my pocket, the same one my hubby has to do his fuel calcs on the plane. I figure I will use it in the future or I he will, since he seems to break them.

We got calculators in our skills kit and they said we could use those. lol..I'm glad I'm not the only one that got nervous about stuff I saw on BB. Its okay though! We can do it!!

I still don't have my skills kit. I wonder how long I have to get it.

Ok, I'm feeling sheepish:imbar I just read that part in the handbook about the calculators. I haven't really gone through my skills kit because I don't want my kids walking off with bits of it!

Hey guys, Techniques and Pharm were probably the hardest classes. But I had the toughest time with Pharm, and I passed, so you guys can do it too. Health Assessment was probably the easiest for me. When you can, volunteer to be the person the instructor shows the class the technique. I did it every class, and I got a 99% on my simulation. (I would have gotten 100% but she did not see me do something, even though I did it). Ummm Concepts seems like a lot of common sense, but still study the mess out of it. Cuz when you sit down, you will be like crap, what was that again?

How old are your little ones? I have a 3yr. old.She will be going to pre-school on the days that I have classes. I also work doubles every weekend, but I will shift to PRN once clinicals start. It's hard to study and focus when I am at home..there are so many distractions.So I try to go to Barnes and Nobles whenever I can--otherwise, i have to hit the books after her bedtime. I really admire those who have children and juggle school and work--It is an added challenge, but beneficial in the long run.

Hi Roshel! I have a son, Jack, who just turned 3 and a daughter, Kate who is 15 months. I'm grateful to have a wonderful young woman as my newly found nanny. My kids are great sleepers and go down at 6:30. It's my saving grace! Roshel - people who work and have kids and go to school are amazing. What is your job?

Me too, don't feel bad. At least those little calcs only cost like $2.50 and seriously my hubby goes thru about 3-4 a year anyhow! lol:yeah:

I too had a mild anxiety attack at the amount of stuff already on BB. I figure if I can eat, sleep and do nothing but breathe College Algebra for 8 weeks and still get an A (math is hard for me) then I can learn anything!!
