I have a seminar in Aug. called Intro. to the Profession of Nur. (3 days, 8:00-4:00) *must pass to start classes for the fall!

Then I start in Oct.

Health Assessment in Nursing (theory class)

Health Assessment skills in Nursing (lab)

Fundamentals of Nursing Practice 1 (theory)

Intro. to Clinical Nursing skills (lab)

It's a big load, but I'm so excited, scared, & anxious that I want to just start already!!! :nurse:

I hope most of you have loaded up on drop slips....I've seen some of these schedules posted, and I'm not saying which ones in particualr--buy by week 3 you're going to be burned out. In other words, ain't gonna happen!

I don't have a choice in my schedule. 1st semester is 5 classes, no excuses and seeing as over 100 students with this same scedule graduate from my nursing program every year and we have the highest passrate for a BSN program in our state, I'm pretty sure I'll be good. I have no responsibilities, no job and nothing else to occupy my time. I'm sure I'll be just fine.

Our school use to have pharm and patho as two classes but now they're crammed into one class our first semester =(

Wow! Best of luck. I'm taking A&P1/Lab and Health Care Ethics. I wanted to keep my schedule as simple as possible so I could focus on my sciences and get the best grades that I can.

Luckily i have taken every other class aside from the nursing ones...but thats pretty much how my school requires things. Im just taking Nursing Fundamentals (10 credits)

Monday: Theory 830 to 1130 Prelab 1230 to 230 (monday night is also when i go get my clinical assignments)

Tuesday: Clinical 7 to 230

Wednesday: Clinical 7 to 230

Thursday: Theory 830 to 1130 Lab 130 to 430

Friday: OFF!!! :)

At the CC I'm attending, you have to complete your prereqs before acceptance into the program so I'll only be taking :

NUR 111- Nursing I w/lab

NUR 226- Health Assesment w/lab

guiltysins- I think thats why our college strides to have you complete all your gen eds prior to the start of the program. I really couldnt imagine(or want to imagine, lol) taking my one nursing class along with a math, science and english as well...we'd be walking zombies! Most of them already are due to the amount of home"work" time too. Im excited and scared too :)

Good luck every one!

I only have Med Surg 2 and Community Nursing this fall. But don't let this "light" load fool you though! We are busy for the entire week!!! WITH additional weekend clinicals to boot! *tear*

Hello all,

I am taking:

Intro to Nursing 2hrs

Pharmacology 3 hrs

Nursing Informatics 3hrs

Relaxation 1 hr

Drug Use 3hrs

Total 12 hrs

I am a little nervous. I am wondering if anyone has any advice for preparing for these classes.

I know who frustrating it can be to have goals and not be able to just jump in and get it down, but keep your head up. When it is time for you to enter the program you feel good about yourself. Take your time and think about the long run.
