I commuted an hour and a half twice per day for about 3 years. The time sucks, but the gas prices are what kill a person now. I got my motorcycle license and started riding. It cut down on the prices and helped me relax. If riding isn't for you, then see about carpooling and check into buses or even posting on craigslist and at your school. A lot of people want to ride share but can't figure out how to start. Another thing I did on my commutes was listen to the lectures again that I recorded. When you're in nursing school, never waste ANY time:)

Yeah, the anal stories could go on and on- but I got another one! Guy brings in his girl. Girl has light bulb end stuck in her butt. They had the "bright" idea to use something with a little more texture and her muscles clamped down and broke the glass. Needless to say, that was way too exciting for them. Sounds bad, but it was way very amusing for us because we hadn't seen that particular object before. All ended well for them BTW.

Congratulations!!! Best suggestion for your last 15 days of freedom are to clean your house, car and anything else that will get neglected when you start. Remember to pamper yourself- catch up on sleep. Visit with all your friends and family. Reorganize your study area so it is set up ahead of time, and do the "happy-dance"! Relax, don't start getting scared before you even attend class. You made it this far, just go with it and have confidence that you can handle anything that is thrown your way:nurse:

Well, I guess I am by far not the oldest. I am 31 and have 5 young boys at home. I figure if I don't start now, then I can't get done. My nursing app is due on Friday and here's for hoping that I rock my last semester of pre-reqs! Good luck to everyone and Happy New Year.

I think that if you want to become a nurse, then go for it! I have definitely needed to read these posts due to my doubts that I've had lately too. I have five kids at home, all under nine! I am finishing up my prereqs and have asked myself if I should be doing this at the age of 31?! I have to start volunteering at a hospital, get the kids back to school and start A&P1/lab in the fall. I feel crazy, but hey everyone has to have a hobby! Good luck and keep going.

Wow! Best of luck. I'm taking A&P1/Lab and Health Care Ethics. I wanted to keep my schedule as simple as possible so I could focus on my sciences and get the best grades that I can.
