Failed 3 times!

How could this be? I have never been so depressed in my life. I don't want to give up but it's so hard getting back up and getting all my confidence back and finding the strength to study again. I have done Kaplan, I have done ncsbn questions and I've studied day and night. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I don't want to make the same mistakes again. Should I take a break? or should I start studying all over again? This is definitely affecting me physically and mentally. What should I do? PLEASE HELP. :bluecry1:

All i have to say

God did not bring you through Nursing school if he didnt want you to be one.

Keep the faith in GOD and i know u can do it.......

Faith in God.

Gods says Today is friday for u, but dont forget that sunday is coming too...

Its means things are not favouring u at this time, u did not pass ur exam so, friday is going for u,,

but dont forget that sunday is coming too... everything will be fine , things gonna start favouring u and soon u will be nurse too

I also failed my NCLEX first time and I also envy those who passed..but i always think to myself..that passing my second time will make me better.. i will value my job more than the ones who passed the first time, because i know what it feel like to be a failure... we all will be PN and then we will be able to celebrate as the others on this site.. then we will be able to write our success story on how we passed and help others who are also struggling through this exam... I am praying for myself and each and everyone of you .. good luck to us all!!!!!!!!

mnk10! Hey! Im in the same situation as you are. I have failed the nclex 3 times and it is soooooo hard to get back up again. But you know what we did it those 3 other times and can do it again. Its very hard and it really test you as a person. I have had good and bad days but I promise myself that I will not give up b/c I want this so badly. Keep up the hard work and it will soon pay off. Me and you will soon be nurses and this pain will all be in the past.

Remember anything worth having is worth working for. Trust me I know exactly how you feel and prayer and motivation has brought me this far. Good luck to you and keep me posted. We can motivate each other since we are in the same situation.

when can you test again? I can test again at the end of Oct.

I have taken NCLEX twice already and both failed it. I stopped at 85 both test. I was so devastated. But i told myself i want this and and wont give up, tho sometimes i already felt like giving up. Now in two weeks i am taking my 3rd try on this test and been studying content and practice test in Saunders...i've been practicing my analysis and strategies. I think i can make it this time and be mindful and careful of selecting the best answer and being relax and focus. Its hard but i think NCLEX is a mental torture for nurses. I cant wait til the end of this journey and i can finally say..I'm a NURSE...Wish me luck and pray for me..Thanks and good luck to all....

I have been in your shoes. I failed boards 3x and passed July 28, 09 for the 4x. Many times I felt like giving up but I sit back and think about it that if I did give up I wouldn't be a nurse today. Your blessings wont come if you give up on them. Stay strong in the lord and when you walk in there for the 4x say to yourself all minds clear (that's what my mom told me). When you sit down in front of that computer pray. Give yourself at least a week off before you start back up with studying. I used Saunders for content review, Kaplan for strategies, examcram for practice questions, and the bible for NCLEX Linda LaCharity delegation and prioritzation. Remember your prayers have already been sent up and the balls in your court now. God bless you.

Yes. Hard, hard hard...I don't know why some people think is so easy and some others have such hard time with. I remember someone telling me it was like one of these tests you take at a hospital orientation! I sometimes think that once you fail it gets tricky because the computer keep your file and whatever made you trip the first time intensify but I fight this thought because is a negative one. One thing I am grasping more and more is that the approach s should shift and you should think of the test in a different way. I agree with someone who posted on this site: She said the NCLEX is all about giving you questions you don't know and see how you do with the little you know. So right there is our shift on our approach to this test. Think of it less as a test you took in school which is testing your knowledge in a particular subject and more as a puzzle in which the theme is "nursing" but the actual test is not testing on nursing skills. I think that makes the most sense so far.

I'm in the same boat and unsure of how to study or what to do different this time around. It's really hard to motivate and stay focus.

Hey Yall !!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! I am an LPN, doing the Excelsior LPN -RN thing and almost finished (already have a bachelors but not in nursing) !!!!!!!!!! When I had to do boards, I attended a review(for both LPN & RN's) and it was the best. About $350.00 but worth every penny( you will make this back in one shift as RN). The Hurst Review :yeah:It helps you take all that knowledge and apply it differently for test taking. We learn so much in school, the review helps you learn how to take the test! I cannot say much about other reviews but I know "Hurst "works. When I finish LPN -RN I will take the review again, for the tests I am taking now are presented differently than boards are presented. Look into it and other reveiws if you have not already!!!!!!!!!!
