Would take a couple of days to recover and decide on a plan. You need to think of studying as if you haven't studied before. Sorry to hear you lost but don't give up

I suggest that you try something else. I took kaplan for my first attempt and I failed. I took kaplan for my second attempt using the book I got from the first attempt and I failed again....My suggestion would be to get the Saunder's 4th Edition By Linda Anne Silvestre. I had a friend who actually took the NCLEX 4 times. First 3 attempts with Kaplan and Last attempt he used the Saunder's 4th Edition which comes with a CD with 4215 Questions together with the Kaplan Question Trainer: HE PASSED: Also one of Suzannes Requirements for her First Tip is the use of Saunder's 4th Edition. I beleive that book alone will be alot of help to you, and I can tell you that from first hand experience since I have the book as well. Goodluck and keep trying!! Hope this helps. ^_^

I failed the NCLEX-Rn this week first time using only Kaplan. I was doing everything with Kaplan. From content to classes and Qbank everyday. My computer stopped at 77 and I could not believe it. I am waiting for the analysis in the mail to see what happened. I heard such good things about Saunders and I shouldve listened to my gut feelings studying from that when I felt Kaplan wasnt satisfying my needs. since I cried all day yesterday after finding out i failed and cant cry anymore I have to start another plan of study. Everybody that I knew who signed up with Kaplan this summer and took the NCLex failed so, that doesnt make me have a good outlook on Kaplan.
how long did it take you to get the analysis in the mail after you took the test?

Kaplan guarantees their program, so make sure that you get your refund from them.

i am sorry that you were unsuccessful on your nclex, i know all too well how you are feeling. it may seem discouraging, but definately pick up your studying once you have your mindset back to preparing for the nclex again.
i would definately get your refund back from kaplan. i also took kaplan and would not recommend that to anyone. so please get your money back, invest in saunders 4th edition and study that book, it is excellent!!! also check out suzanne's plan, the sticky at the top of the nclex forum.
best wishes to your sucess!

I studied only Saunders too and it was very helpful on the exam.... This is how I studied: I took notes of the things that wasn't quite sure on and only studied those notes few days before the exam ! I just took my NCLEX too and I'm still waiting for the results... Don't give up !

I also did not pass the first time (got all 265). I took about a week off and then used only Saunders 4th edition. Read it from cover to cover and took notes on what i scored the lowest in. Just make sure to read all rationales, even the ones you get right!! Second time I passed with 75!! Good luck and don't give up!

I agree with the above poster about Saunders 4th E. IMHO this will help you get your nursing knowledge were it needs to be in order to pass! Mosby notecards is another good source for study! Knowing the answer to the question will help more than learning test strategies. Here is a good site for studying math calculations. My NCLEX math calcs. were identical to some of the critical care calculations on this site.

i guess one of the factors that made me fail the exam is because of too many review materials i have and not knowing where to start.i was too glued to my goal of passing the nclex and forgot to check my way up there.im trying it again soon (i hope i get suzanne's 2nd tip) and hoping to pass it by then.godbless to all of us retakers.

It's OK to Fail.
"A man's steps are established by the Lord, and He takes pleasure in his way. Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the Lord holds his hand." Psalms 37:24
you will do it the 2nd time around. trust yourself.
