Well a friend of mine just finished the Lpn/LVN-RN program through their online program. She lives in Nevada and she will be taking the NCLEX next month. I am planning on doing the same with them and in the process of submitting my transcripts. As far as I know California is the only state they are accredited and or approved in. For working LPNs this is the online program they have this is adorable and self paced.
How is the program so far?

California is the only state that currently DOES NOT recognize Excelsior's ADN program.

House Bill 3961 will be reviewed as a formality by the Sunset Commission.
HB 3961 was passed in 2009 and deals with several areas of nursing, one of which (Sec. 105.008) is titled "STUDY OF ALTERNATE WAYS TO ASSURE CLINICAL COMPETENCY OF GRADUATES OF NURSING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS". Pretty much a way to make sure that the CPNE and Excelsior is a competent measurement of nursing.
This study was ordered under the bill and the report was supposed to have been turned in by June 30, 2014. The study was never done because it was never funded.
This (and several other) section(s) of this bill expires December 31, 2017. The Sunset Commission will re-evaluate these sections and see if they need to be extended or if they can expire and go away.
In my (legally worthless) opinion, it was not even funded the first time, why would it even be renewed? It is a non-issue. The only reason it is even being re-evaluated is because the bill specifically states it.
The Sunset commission's reason for being is to cut government waste, and nothing says waste more than the fact that it could not get funded the first time.
If you are concerned, write you state senator, write the governor (Greg Abbott), write to Dan Patrick (the Lt Governor) about it.
