I'm studying to take the Health Differences Across the Lifespan 2 exam on Wednesday May 15. I've been reading on Excelsior discussion boards that many people have failed this exam....and keep failing it. I've received A's and B's on 4 of the exams I've recently taken by studying the Excelsior Practice exams and Study Group 101 notes. I was wondering if Excelsior practice exams helped anyone be prepared to take the Health Differences Across the Lifespan 2 exam and pass? I'll really appreciate any helpful advice! Thanks!

Hi there!
I have not taken any Excelsior exams yet myself .I am currently studying for my first Clep exam. When I first joined here I asked a similar question and the excelsior practice exams everyone said were definetly worth the $$.Many here have taken them and been successful.Im sure someone will come along soon and answer you from experience:specs: but I wanted to answer you of what I knew since I asked the same stuff myself awhile back.Good luck to you!
Hi FLNurseGal, thanks for replying! I've been using the practice exams along with Study Group 101 notes to pass the previous 4 Excelsior exams, but reading on Excelsior's discussion board about students who says they've also used the practice exams, books, ect and studied for 3 months still couldn't passed Health Differences across the Lifespan 2, made me very nervous! But I'm going to keep using the same studying techinque for this exam that I've used to be very successful on the previous exams and pray for the best!

I failed HD2 but many pass also. I was so close. The endocrine and metabolic sections did me in. Just know everything in the content guide and hopefully you will be successfull. I ain't gonna lie, it was a tough exam but look at me now! I am a RN and that's all that matters. Good luck to you! I took all the practice exams and felt like they were helpful in passing the test.

Don't let others' experience with this exam rattle you too much. I took it when it was called Nursing Concepts 5, and it was the exam I was dreading most, just for the reasons you stated -- everyone warned me it was hard, everyone fails it, etc. I got an A on it.
I highly recommend the EC practice exams -- I took them for every exam, every subject. They were incredibly helpful to me.
Welcome to the forum! :)
Thanks for replying! I'm feeling better knowing that with the practice exams, I'll have a better chance at passing this exam. I'll just have to keep my nerves in check!
I've been doing pretty well on the past 4 exams: Health Safety(B), Chronicity(B), Reproductive Health(A), Health Differences Across the Lifespan 1(A); and I've used the practice exams for all of them, but its reading on the Excelsior discussion boards how many people are failing this exam that was wrecking my nerves! But coming to this forum is making me more confident that I can pass these exams and pretty soon, become an RN!

These exams are worth their weight in gold! I take one to assess my weak/strong points, study my weak points, and take the other test to see how I'm doing. By doing this, I'm not concentrating on everything and only concentrating on what I need to. It's working for me.

I too was very nervous about this exam just because of everything I had read. I studied Lisa Arends notes for 2 weeks, took the practice exams and got an A on the real thing. I did not think it was any different or more difficult than the rest of the exams.
I'm actually taking the test tomorrow April 15. My nerves are a little more calm since reading the replies I've received. I've been taking and passing an exam every 3 weeks using Study Group 101 notes and the practice exams, but felt that my previous studying techniques was inadequate because of so many students complaining of how they weren't passing after so many attempts. But I thank all of you who have replied and made me feel more at ease with this up and coming exam. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if I passed it!
I passed the Heath Differences 2 exam with a B!!!! On to HD3! Thanks for those of you who gave me confidence to take this exam!
Good work! :)
