Can anyone tell me which math that Excelsior accepts through Aleks... Beginning, intermediate, or college algebra, I'm not that great in math and I don't want to take something above my head.

I think the best person to ask is the advisor at EC. I remembered asking for an approval before taking the Info Literature thru Penn Foster. Won't you need approval as well?
Good luck to which ever Math you need.

Yes, it is always a good idea to check with an Adviser... I took my Math through ALEKS, and I did the Beginning Algebra, College Level. First, I made sure it was ACE accredited, which it is. It was accepted by Excelsior on my Official Evaluation. Here is a link (it is the first one):

What is ALEKS? Has any one completed the Math Exam offered by UExcel on the Excelsior website?

Excelsior can approve lowest Math which is Contemporary Mathematics, cost is $ 95.00, problem Is i cannot find a used book anywhere online . Their book is about $ 157 or so. Anyone ever taken this class and knows where I can find a cheaper book?

I got mine at amazon second hand - both of them - Excelsior requires 2 Math books for Contemporary Math and I got both of the required textbooks second hand on amazon.com

I did beginning algebra through ALEKS last week and the credit transferred this week. Make sure you email your advisor and ask if that class is specifically acceptable for the program. Once you get the approval, keep the email. Its your only guarantee.
Hello emtpbill
My advisor approved the Contemporary Math so I went ahead and registered and paid for the exam and scheduled with Peason Vue and have my exam date. So I was wondering about how the Contemporary Math exam was if anyone did it.
Thanks!
If I could, I would advise using ALEKS. It is ALOT cheaper then using excelsiors test. I think total I paid 39 or 40 dollars and received 3 credits.
Basically you create an account on ALEKS, select which course you want, begin by doing math problems for an assessment. It will then show what you need to do. Once you have obtained 70% by doing the math problems you then contact ALEKS staff and ask to make an assessment available. The assessment is basically just like a final. You then do the assessment and you are then able to see what percentage you received. As long as the percentage remains above 70% your golden.
Once you receive the 70% you then log into ACE website, they are the credit granting entity. ACE will contact ALEKS and verify that you achieved above 70%. Once they verify the info you are then able to request a transcript be sent to your school (excelsior). Excelsior will receive the transcript and credit you with the 3 math credits.
Since you only need 2 credits for Math for the RN program the excelsior advisor will most likely move 3rd credit over to a free elective.
ALL FOR ABOUT 40 DOLLARS, HOLLAH!!!!!!!!!!

do the information literature though TOR college credit cause it's only 135 compared to excelsior 490
If I recall correctly, they don't charge 490 for the information literacy class at excelsior. Since it is only a 1 credit class I believe it around 160 or so.
