Dec 29, 2008 Hi there, psych is not my speciality so not sure how much help I can give, it may be useful if you could tell us a little more about your essay and what kind of thoughts you had on it. did you want to focus on one particular area, it sounds like a massive subject or were you going to look generally at it?General advice would be to check any government papers and targets that relate to this issue, I'm not familiar with the mental health ones so am not sure. Are there local initiatives that you could look at, obviously protection of vulnerable adults maybe something you would want to include and care of the carers as well.

Dec 29, 2008 Some quick thoughts, patient would be referred via Psychiatrist to psychiatric care manager and to CPN.CPN would assess mental state, risk, help via helpers/relatives,any outside help such as day care centres, clubs etc would be suggested and report back to case manager.
