Tuesdays after a 3 day weekend are insane, The entire week after thanksgiving is a belly pain and diabetic marathon.

The drunkards come in 7am for breakfast, 12pm for lunch and 6pm for dinner....not a minute before or a minute after!

See my ER's drunks just so up all day, with no regard to times, but with a sharp increase on Fri/Sat night.

Fri afternoons are when we tend to get the most pts by volume though. We figure it is a combination of clinics not wanting to wait til Mon to get test results back for something potentially emergent, and pts wanting to get whatever looked at before the weekend

Wednesday is our pelvic craze day

My city has a big week long festival every summer, that is "drunk and stupid" week, followed closely by "pancreatitis week."

Monday mornings are the worst, and it's generally not emergencies, I call it the sick-note rush.

The Crazies really do come out at the full moon.

We also have a weather phenomenon that practically guarantees loads of migraines.

Laughing at the Vag Complaint Thursdays. I guess our weekends start a little later here -- Friday late afternoon - mid evening is Prime lady partsl Complaint Time. A coworker says it's about tuneups before ...

Sunday evenings are heavy with sick notes for those who know they just won't be able to face work/school/life in the morning.

A couple of weeks from now when everyone turns on their furnaces ... there will be a flurry of respiratory stuff. Winter brings an increase in falls, though significant decrease in overall trauma.

And yes, *emergencies* do seem to miraculously cease during major sporting events.

I won't see a pelvic pt for days until I'm the only female nurse in the ER. :/ then there's 10 a shift and I have to chaperone :/. I can look at the schedule and determine when we will get pelvic pain patients.

Friday afternoon to evening we get the nursing home mother load. People there hoping for low census I assume.

Monday mornings the pulled g-tubes come in- as a result of the low census and overworked remaining staff at said nursing homes I'm assuming.

I'm currently working to develop an algorithm whereby we can predict the % of lame excuses and tie it to the ambient air temperature.

(Seriously had a guy WALK a couple miles to our hospital in sub-zero temps with a CC of 'unable to satisfy his woman'. THAT is dedication to the cause!)
