EPIC

I am learning Epic at a new job. Is there somewhere that I can learn on my own? I dont remember what to do when someone shows me unless I write it down . I want to be able to take my time to learn certain things and how to do it in the epic system. I want step by step instructions

Have you asked your IT dept. for resources? Our IT people gave us a big packet. I didn't keep it very long though...I was insanely nervous about Epic following our training day, but using it on a real shift with real pt data helped things fall into place. If I don't know how to do something, I still ask my more experienced peers (I've been at my hospital a little over a year).

EPIC does have its own site where you can practice and listen to explanations regarding different tasks. Regrettably, I don't remember how to access it.

They usually set up a "playground" at the hospital. Ask your IT department if they have one.

Talk to your manager. If you are having difficulties, s/he can arrange additional training & practice for you including online courses that you could access from home. However, a bit of a warning... because this training is mandatory for your job, you must be paid for it.... this could create some difficulties with your manager's attitude about this issue.

Yes, and at our workplace, we were able to access it at home and fiddle around with it.
