EC Nursing Concept 1

Hi everyone. I am about to take Nursing Concept 1 through EC and was wondering which books or guides did you use to suceed in the exam? I have the free content guide from EC's website which is about 40 page. Besides that what other books or guides would you recommend me getting? Thank you very much! ;)

How about the textbooks from which you do the readings as delineated in the study guide?

Those're what I used. Got an A.

Use www.half.com or www.amazon.com for used books. The latest edition doesn't matter, although I wouldn't go below the one preceding the current. I hate highlighting so I look for sellers that emphasize who there's no marking.

Hi, thanks for the quick response! I was thinking of getting "Nursing Process" By Wilkinson and "Fundamentals" by Kozier? They were the ones recommended by the content guide. Are those the books you used? Will I need the Pediatric book also?

Also, I heard that a lot of people uses the modules or just the study guide? Is getting the books better ? sorry for so many questions.

I used the Excelsior study guide, the Kozier book, the online NCLEX review questions on the Kozier website, and most importantly;

The Excelsior Online Practice Exam!!

Go to : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rnstudygroup/ Ask for an invite to the Nursing Concepts 1 study group. Also check the files for Concepts 1 and Differences A (what it used to be called).

I used EC's study guide and the first text listed in the guide and purchased an older version on www.half.com and stayed in close contact with the study group above. They were truly invaluable to me during my entire time with EC. I graduated in 2000 and would do it again in a heartbeat. Good Luck.

I just check the excelsior website and when I clicked to download the study guide it asked for my alumni ID and Password. Perhaps you have to be registered to download? I do think you can request it be send to you. I'll keep checking on it.

Okay, yeah...study guides can only be downloaded by enrolled students. I still think you can order them for free through the mail. I'm checking.

The school and their study guides aren't free. You must be enrolled.

you can get ec1 and ec 2 study guides right now off the ec website but in order to obtain 3-7 you must be a enrolled student.
