Drop your monthly testing average here please.

Hey Y’all!

I haven’t been in the monitoring program very long and I’m tryIng to get an idea on what I need to budget for testing. I recently had 2 tests in 3 day, with one being a specialty test that was pricey. Now I haven’t had to test in almost 2 weeks. Just wanted to make sure this is normal. It’s not a big deal as I am sober and have been for a long time, Im just hoping to get a grasp on what a normalish month of testing is like. I’m seeing in other posts it can pick up around holidays and end dates, but haven’t found much info about those years (?) in the middle. Thanks!

hey Rue! Not sure where you are but I average 2/month; some months could be 1 and others 3- no rhyme or reason to it! ((Hugs))

Hello from FL. I used to test 2-3 times a month. Sometimes twice in a week or three times in two weeks. On a Friday and then the following Monday. It was no telling when I was asked to test. Most of the time it was just the regular urine panel, but at least every 3 months it was blood. ??‍♀️

Typically twice a month, sometimes 3. In PA.

Usually every other week (twice a month), the closest together my test have been were 5 days and the longest was 4 weeks over the holidays and 4 weeks in the Summer.

I've been in a year in the SC Recovering Professionals program. I test 2 times minimum a month and have gone up to three in longer months. I budget at least $300 a month.

Lately, I have been tested weekly. I am not sure why the increase in frequency.  I have 6 months remaining on my 5 year contract, however recovery for me is lifelong. I am OK with that, I’m just over all the testing.

When I was in before, I went as long as 7 weeks no testing. I had 3 test days in a row. And tested as high as 4 in a month. But average 2.5 tests a month. Random for sure.

In Texas it was 2-3 times a month. No specialty tests during my whole three years. Urine only.

Wow! I’ve had 4 tests so far, 3 of them have been specialty. 2 urine, 1 blood. Been in LESS than a month.

in Ohio, 9 months into a 3 year consent agreement.  get tested on average twice a month. urine only so far. alcohol was my DOC

In FL, so far I have had 2 urine tests ($55/each) and this is my first month in the program.  Other people I know in the program say they usually have 2-3 tests per month.

I'm in the same program as you. Averages 3 to 4 times a month. The middle years it was 3x/month more often than 4, but the early years it was usually 4 and this last stretch it's increasing again and they are throwing curveballs, such as specialty tests I've never seen before in over 4.5 years, and a bunch of various ones. I'm stone cold completely sober and compliant since day 1, so it doesn't matter to me outside of time/finances, but it is interesting to see all these new codes. Oh, and for funsies, they started requiring some random observed urines my last year, out of nowhere, for no reason. Usually at least one observed every other month at minimum now, just an heads up for future you. Strip from the waist down, twirl, squat, pee. Nothing surprises me anymore, tbh.
