They just opened up their scholarship admission cycle and I'm considering it...They pay for your schooling and living expenses and in exchange you agree to work for them for two years after you graduate...The up side is not worrying about loans or working while in school and two years of guaranteed work/experience after you graduate, the downside is you have to work where they tell you to work for two years...Any comments?
My info...Just got accepted into an accelerated RN/BSN program here in AZ which starts this summer...Age 44, male, own my own home, work 35 hrs a week...

Hi,
I thought thesame, that is they you will have you to work anywhere they tell you to work. I call them and the lady told me, they do not tell you where to work. You choose where you want to work for two years.

Purely gossip but I thought you couldn't have a BA to be eligible, and you aren't working for them, yoiu are working for a hospital/clinic that has a critical need for nurses

You can choose to work where you want as long as it fits one of the requirements. It needs to be in a shortage area of some sort or a public hospitals. Also, unless you have an EFC of 0 - 5500 on your FASFA, there is no reason to apply. They do not go out of this funding preference group. I have a previous Bachelor degree and I am eligible.

I'm a recipient of 2010 scholarship and honestly I don't believe they left the 0 EFC funding group. I'm not sure if the rules have changed; maybe they have but I'm just letting you know my experience.

I am SO glad that I seen this post! I am a 0 EFC candidate, starting my nursing program in August and I started the process of applying for this today. There are many different choices for the places of employment it looks like so I don't believe it should be to hard to find a place that fits :) Good luck everyone! :)
Good luck to you as well...Glad my confusion could be helpful... :) ...
For those working on their essays, did I read correctly that it is 2500 words per essay?
"The applicant must provide typed responses to the three essay questions listed below, one
page per essay. Each response must be limited to 2,500 characters or less (approximately ½
page)."
Typical government speak...So 2500 words or less is the critical area...
2500 or less. It said about half a page for each one. Although I doo 500 page papers for school all the time and they are only a half page long so I am a little confused as well. Going to go back on the site and reread.
