Discouraged and crying ......

Published

I am so confused, I just got my letter today and I failed what I already knew but now it's reality.

I just feel like it was a waste of time all the effort I put into studying. I studied so hard for 2 months everyday for hours did Kaplan, Saunders and many practice review questions and feel it was all for nothing.

I'm sure it's frustrating, but don't give up! Think of all the time in nursing school you spent preparing. You've come far, and are so close to being a nurse!!:heartbeat

You are definitely not alone in this. Suzanne's plan may help you, I'm currently in the process of doing her tip #1. Best wishes!

do not be discouraged. but you can cry and get it out then start another plan of study. i failed the first time and it wa really hard. but i continued studing and re took it. i just found out today i passed. you will get it the next time. i used nclex 3500 i did almost every question. the key to my success was not studing but answering question and reading the rational. i also used the priortization book by La charity. hang in there. i will pray for you.:wink2:

Take some time to relax and refocus then get back in and fight for your right to b called a REGISTERED NURSE.

I truly understand your frustration. Your story sounds exactly as mine. I studied using mostly Kaplan the first time I tested and failed with 75 Questions. I then used Kaplan complete again, Saunders for content and NCLEX 3500 online. I passed the second time with 75 questions. Hang in there, you can do it!

I can imagine how discouraged and fustrated you must feel. sad0010.gif Think of it this way, you did graduate from nursing school ( that is no easy feat to do ), you've put so much time into this already so don't give up your dream. Consider Suzanne's Plan and really read through The Random Facts Sticky Thread. Also worth looking for are the Infection Control Quick Facts Thread and the Obscure Diseases Threads on this forum.happy0025.gif Good Luck.

And use Suzanne's Plan.

:)

I know how you feel. I failed my first time and was discouraged that I failed even though I knew right after ending the test that I failed. But I got through it and am preparing to take it a second time. Good luck to you!! :wink2:

I Can Relate To How You Feel.i Was There Too The First Take.it Takes A Month For Me To Regain Composure To Stand And Be Ready Again For The Second Time.remember, We Have The Goal, And That Is Where We Go.take Your Time, And Relax First.you Needed Sometime To Have Your Mind Rest For Awhile.i Know How Hard To Accept This, But We Have To.i Am Sure,we Gained Something Too From This Failure As I Had.what I Mean By Gaining Is,we Got Some Points To Realized Where Exactly Our Weak Points In The Exam.

Stay Positive, And Get Time To Relax And Wind Up. Don't Give Up,there's No Limit In Taking.

God Bless You!

First, do not be hard on yourself, its the dumb test NOT you. I was very hard on myself when i failed so i know what you are going through. the second time i was terrified because it ahd beaten once already, finally on the third time i passed

Second, take some time off, the amount of time is dicated by you, no one can say a week or a month..'you' will 'know' when you are ready.

Third, remember that this test in no way dictates what kind of nurse you are OR will be.

and lastly, have hope, i know now its hard (read my earlier post where i was going bonkers..) you WILL pass this test !! you will find ALOT of support in here from people that have and are going through the same thing as you.

you are just ONE test (X, amount of questions) away from being an RN.

best of luck to you !
