Dcccd 2006

Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?

I'm glad to know that there are other parents HOPEFULLY that will be in the nursing program!!

I hope to finish. I volunteer sometimes at the hospital close to my home and they have internships there so if I finish school I am almost guaranteed a job. At least, that's what the Volunteer coordinator says.

FUNNIE: What do you mean "your first time applying?"

This will be your ONLY TIME APPLYING 'cause you are gonna get in! :rotfl:

L&D$ME: Thanks for the info on Citibank. Yes, those summer classes do speed by. That is the main reason I like them. I have the attention span of a flea!

That's cute how your daughter like computers. Maybe she will be the next Bill Gates. I have no little ones yet myself. You guys are so fortunate. My mum always said nap time was her favorite part of the day.

OOOOOHHHHHH YEAH! Good call! lol THANKS FOR THE CONFIDENCE!!!! :)

BTW, I obviously have two girls, 14 & 7 (8 as of next weekend).

My 14 yr old has her own computer, the lil 'one is constantly on our PC. No one except myself uses my laptop!!! HAHAHAHA

It's for school purposes only, and Allnurses.com, and.....lol

but I just visited your website and it was really neat. A lot of useful info, I am thinking about blogging but I am just not motivated enough to do it right now. Those middle of the night feedings are getting to me, but we are really close to my son sleeping thru the night. And a few days from my daughter being potty-trained

Hooray for potty training! K FINALLY got potty trained

Well, I'm thinking of taking a class but the only class I need is Micro..I usually take classes at Cedar Valley but they're not offereing it during the evening.

All of my other classes are done.

L&D: Thanks. I've seen some other websites out there, so I decided, "That's what I'm going to do!" lol

TXMOM: I drove from Arlington to Brookhaven 3 X week for Micro. If possible with your schedule, gas prices, etc, see if you can take it somewhere else! :)

What about online for Micro TXMOM? THey offer it at CCConline. It won't start for a few weeks so you still have time to organize. A lot of folks here on allnurses have taken it. They say its tought but passable. They send you a lab kit and everything!

Do you guys realize that this thread is the biggest one about a particualr school/region? YEAH DFW!

That's 'cause everything's bigger in Texas! lol

I am so nervous about going to nursing school while still taking care of the kids. :uhoh3: I have 3 kids. They are 10, 6, and 2. The oldest 2 can do a lot themselves but the 2 year old likes to stay attached to my hip. :chuckle I just hope I have plenty of time to study while helping the 2 oldest with their homework and dealing with 2 year old tantrums. I just hope I get in first though. lol

I know....it keeps hitting me that I've actually applied. lol It always seemed so far away, now October 15 seems so far away. :chuckle

I just hope I get into NLC. I'm used to that school, and it's closer to me than ECC, and the traffic, and the parking, and, and, and, and.....lol

lol I heard Northlake is really nice. I am not looking forward to El Centro parking but all I have to do is hop on 30 and just go to downtown all of the way. It is actually closer to me than NLC. If only I didn't have to pay for parking......
