D-ring on scrub pants?

What exactly is the D-ring used for on scrub pants? I can't detach it, so I can't put a roll of tape on there, and it seems impractical to put some scissors on them...what do you use it for???

keys? id badge? thumb drive? face shield for cpr?

I wonder if it's less about utility and more about fashion. Failed on both counts, in my opinion.

I don't know what I thought this thread was about but I was guessing it had something to do with piercings showing through clothing. I'm still not entirely sure what a D-Ring is.

A D-ring is exactly what it is...a D-ring! Here's a picture on some scrub pants:

The D-ring on my pants is like halfway down my leg...it's just in an awkward spot! It would be nice for maybe some keys or ID badge if it was up a little higher...

You know, I never thought about that D-Ring until you brought it up! Maybe if you had a few items on a carabiner (like scissors or hemostat) it would come in handy. I never liked that much stuff banging against my leg all night though!

I put a carabiner on it with my tape. Through the tape I run my scissors. At least on some days.

I use it by attaching a small key chain calculator and Cheat sheet cards with a ring
