Cute, but cleanable...

Hi, all.

I'm looking for recommendations for some sort of stuffed animal or the like to have in the office for littles to hold if they need comfort or distraction. (For example, when I'm cleaning a cut, getting out a splinter, etc.)

Fuzzy things are too difficult to disinfect. Any ideas?

I have emoji pillows.   They are fuzzy, but washable.   Whenever a student uses one, I just throw it in my basket to wash.   I have 3 of them and that seems to work fine.

I bought a couple of pop-its and the kids are OBSESSED; they can have it on their lap and use their free hand if dealing with an arm/hand/finger injury.. and easy to sanitize with a wipe or dish soap and water. Only trouble is word got out that I have them and I've now had kids feign illness to be able to play with them for a time, so I really have to enforce my "true rest" rule.

Worth a try, maybe I can benefit from pop-it therapy as well...

I often keep one on my desk and I put my phone under it... If I'm tempted to look at my phone, I pop-it instead! Works super well!

I HAVE to check my phone; staff text me instead of calling. (There are no class phones.)

I have an apple watch, so I get the important notifications (I'm in the same boat with teachers, etc!) I'm talking about the all too frequent desire to check instagram or facebook etc during my minimal downtime LOL!

Speaking of phones, here's a trick I learned. When a kiddo insists they have a splinter and I can't see a thing, I take a picture of the area with my phone and then "blow up" the screen. It's helped me a few times with that kind of scenario.

I use small pop-its. They work well for all ages.

And I kept one for myself that sits on my desk ;).
