CSULA BSN Program Fall 2018

Hey! I wanted to start a forum for CSULA fall 2018. I have been looking everywhere for one! Anyways, just wanted to talk to others about their apps and such. This is kind of a nerve wracking experience, and I wanted to compare points/progress on the application. I tallied my points and I have 25. I hope it gets me in. Fingers crossed. I have also applied to a bunch of other schools, but CSULA is the dream :)

I'm confused on what caused this confusion haha. All I can say it Florita is a very reliable source. If you talk to her and she gives you information, it is usually correct. As a current BSN student I will see if I can clarify anything for you guys. If I get any information that will help you all, I will make sure to post(:

the thing is they didnt have to mention that we got admitted to the nursing program if we weren't.. it's so frustrating. we would really appreciate if you can gather more information for us other than what we got! thank you

If that's the case then this line;

"Congratulations! On behalf of Cal State LA, it is my pleasure to offer you Fall Semester 2018 admission to the Nursing program"

is incredibly misleading.

The confusion has been worked out, we are accepted into CSULA as of now but not into the SON. The confusion stems from the fact that we got a letter from the admissions office congratulating us on our acceptance into the SON. The email should have been congratulating us on our acceptance into CSULA.

That is great to hear. No wonder. The three students that didn't receive anything are current CSULA students. Glad you cleared it all up. I hope you all are still going to get the official acceptance soon! GOODLUCK(:

I will try my best to(:

Deadline is May 1st.

Our deadline was end of March. So it definitely is not the same case. Have you guys sent an email confirmation to Florita as the email should say? And if yes did she email back? I hate that you guys are so confused it sucks to get excited then have to worry again.

I couldn't agree more. From what I'm understanding, from others who clarified by calling SON, it was a mistake. I do not know how and why. I will for sure try to talk to someone and get information and officially clarify it today. I will help as much as I can. I can't promise anything but I will try my best!

I got the vibe too on the phone call. I was told that they send out admission in March last year, which was very early, so they want to do it later this year to reduce the number of people dropping the program (because a lot of people end up going to other programs they get accepted to in late April)

But I do think that they probably are going to accept whoever received an email. I recalculated my points and I have 26, which should be a score that is accepted.

Alright everyone, so if you have any concerns best option is to call Florita. I spoke to her and they are currently trying to figure everything out and clear everything up. Since the situation is confusing she just told me to refer you all to her. She did say that SON didn't know that specific letter will be going out. If you have any questions on how to reach her and such just let me know! Hope to hear from you guys soon on acceptance! (: Can't wait

AWESOME! I think 26 points is amazing.

Guys!

I just talked to Florita rn. She said that the letters we'll get on April will reaffirm what we already know. She cant actually release any further information because they'll have to send the official email first.

So i guess this is a breath of fresh air to those who are worried when she said it will be a "reaffirmation."

I spoke with someone from the nursing administration office over the phone and they told me that they did not expect those emails to be sent out. It seems to me that CSULA and the nursing program staff aren't really on the same page right now.

EDIT: Luisa just said the same thing, didn't see it when I was typing this up! Sorry for redundancy.

Oh and i forgot to mention that Florita also told me that if you got the letter of admission, send your transcripts right away because you only have 30 days to do it.
