cpne workshop

Is anyone going to Lynn's workshop on 9/9 in Miami???

I am thinking of doing Sherri Taylors online, and Lynn's in Miami. My date is on or around the 1st of Oct, and Aug workshops aren't working around my work schedule. I guess I could push up my testing date

I'll be in Syracuse that day CPNE-ing. :-) Do you live in FL?

I love Sheri's online workshop. She's awesome and very supportive.

oh good luck in Syracuse. Now I think I may do Tina's in Pa on the 16th. Lynn wants you to buy your airline tix 7 days prior to the workshop. That increases the airfare cost by 1000k, which makes her very affordable workshop, not affordable at all. I can drive 2 hours to Pa. UGH

I have a "ready to test date" of Oct 1st. I hope that isn't carved in stone.

I took Tina's workshop in PA in July and it was a great experience!! I learned a lot and felt more confident in what I had already learned!! I definitely recommend Tina's workshop!

ok thanks. My only concern is that her workshop is on sept 16th, and my "ready to test date is Oct 1st. Is that enough time???

It's not enough time if you don't plan on preparing before the workshop. Ask around, (I) Tina in Pa have pre-reqs to complete before the workshop that need to be done. It's not just a 3 day workshop and you are done. To come to a NEC Workshop you need 4-6 weeks prior for Online pre req's Then it's the 3 days of the Hands-on Workshop and then continue on line for 4-8 weeks after the workshop... and Registration closes for NEC Workshop 3 weeks prior to a workshop. k9kabs and all students.... if you plan to do a Physical workshop 2 weeks prior to your CPNE date... it needs to be for clarification...not for teaching.... you would have to treat it like a MOCK and I don't care whose Workshop it is. So please be carefull not to shot yourself in the foot and plan and study accordingly. I care about students...and you guys and gals worry me when you do any workshop 2 weeks prior to your dates.... It doesn't give you enough time to process and put into practice what you have learned.

Good Luck with what you decided

t-low,

Thanks for the advise. Most of us don't know, and Excelsior doesnt tell us. If it wasn't for people like you at this site, we would be in the dark.

I will call them today, and change my "ready to test date " to Nov.

Thanks again for the advise and I will see you in Sept........

You'll be fine...I took her workshop July 22-24 and my test date is August 19-21. So I only had 4 weeks before I test.

CRudler yeah but you had 6-8 weeks of preworkshop time studying on the Online site prior to your 3 days at the workshop...k9kabs wouldn't have that between today and the Sept Workshop. And you know how important it is to have the pre workshop materials with 16 assignments under control before attending the workshop. Because once at the workshop we bulid from there.

Yes, t-lo you are correct! The pre workshop material and assignments its definitely very important!! Prepared me for the workshop so that I was on top of things. The workshop definitely taught me important things, the whole process made everything not too overwhelming at one! :-)

t-low,

is the Sept workshop enough time??? I changed my ready to test date to Nov 1st.

Yes k9kabs plus you will know by the end of your 3 days in Pa if you are where you should be.... and this is true of any workshop.... Students know by the end of any workshop if they will be ready for their aleady schedule clinical date.

Another example at the other Way Way end of the spectrum was Lunah... she was sooooooo ready for the workshop that she drug me from lab station to lab station to critique her... pumped out her pracitce care plans and documentation so fast and so correct...that if she left the workshop and went directly to clinical she would have passed ( and I hope Lunah reads this and it brings back some nice memories). But please remember...not all students are Lunah she was an exception....and still is...lol!
