CPNE eligible! Wait... what?

So, my heart just skipped a beat. My Excelsior status report update went through today. I just finished my final nursing theory exam, still need the FCCA before I can take the CPNE. But wait... my evaluation summary congratulates me on being eligible to take the CPNE? Student status report now says CPNE ELIGIBLE under my GPA?

So, since the FCCA isn't computerized yet, I *am* eligible to go ahead and register for the CPNE??? Anyone know for sure? I thought the FCCA had to be completed first. I would email Excelsior, but it's almost 9pm their time, and I'm all tingly at the thought of almost being done. :yeah:

yup, you are totally cpne eligible!!! :)

The same thing happened to me. Since the FCCA is not computerized yet, you are eligible for CPNE at the same time. You just have to take and pass FCCA before you can actually "test" on CPNE. Hope this helps!! Go ahead and apply while you are waiting on your FCCA paperwork!!

Thanks all. Glad to know I don't have to wait an extra month or so to finish up the FCCA before I can apply. Now on to knock this out!

Hello all,

I'm curious, what is the FCCA?

1st of CONGRATS and 2nd. how long after your last theory exam did they update your status? i took my last exam on the 30th which was a Wed. and it took until Fri just for it to post onto my exam tab, but my status report has not been updated since the beginning of Sept. and i've completed 2 exams since then. your response would be extremely helpful. and again CONGRATS :)

I don't know if it's because I am a Virginia student or not, but I would message them every time I took an exam or sent transcripts so that they would know to look out for any course completions I had. They updated pretty quickly for me. Just an idea.

I emailed them a few days after I took the exam to see when they would do the update. It took a couple of days for them to reply, and they just replied with a cookie cutter message essentially saying that they'll get to it when they get to it (but worded a little more nicely). But they update went through the same day they replied to me. So shoot them an email and see what happens :)

Being eligible depends when you enrolled in the Excelsior program. If you enrolled before Sep 2007 then you don't have to take FCCA. However, if you enrolled in Excelsior after Sep 2007 then you do have to take FCCA. I know this because I enrolled March 2007 so I was told I don't have to take the FCCA. I just took my last Nursing Concept Sept 30 and I am FINALLY eligible for the CPNE! Yeah!
