Does anyone know of any schools in NJ that have CNA programs for people in nursing school or done with? (While I wait to start working since I won't be licensed until around October)

I recently graduated as an RN but when I used to work as an CNA. I got paid $19.50/HR which is the highest ive heard of. This didnt include benefits tho.

Hi love4nursing101,

Would you mind sharing where you worked? or have any ideas where to apply?

I am starting Nurs101 in September and I am looking for A CNA position.

Do you know if any hospitals hire and train you if they know you are in Nursing school?

Any info would be appreciated, this is a 2nd career for me and I do not know where to start!! LOL!

I'm interested in this info too. Thanks for responses. I am starting Trinitas soon and really need to work part-time. Would be interetsed in hospitals that will let you work as CNA with some nursing school experience.

Thanks! :)

I would like more info on this job also. My cousin is currently in Nursing school and I'm pretty sure all she does is have to take the certification. Please respond with details.

SBHCS - Community Medical Center is currently hiring for Nursing Assistant Training Program, Contact Education Dept. I just started Nursing school, after doing Marketing for 10 years. I'm so excited for the career change & hopefully to start working as a CNA.

i go for my interview on Tue but the job posting said paid training for 3 weeks & then guarenteed placement in a FT position :yeah:

Hi Mookaduke...

That sounds like a great opportunity. Can you tell me the location where the training is being provided? I would love more information.

I am also changing careers and start clinicals in January, would love to get my "foot in the door" and gain some experience while in school.

Good luck on your interview!!!! Let me know how it goes.

Denise

I was contacted on the 27th for the interview & I tried to find the job posting again because honestly I applied to so many jobs at the hospital I couldn't remember. But I did find this link that was posted on the 27th

'Nursing Assistant Training Program' in Toms River, NJ job posted by Llanfair House Nursing Rehabilitat

My interview went good, they didn't tell me what it pays, HR will tell me if I'm offered the job, the job is for a Nursing Asst, not certified, its not required to work in the hospital, only Nursing homes & assisted living is what they told me. Its what most nurses in school work as until they become RN's. The paid training starts the 1st week in Oct, 2weeks classroom training, 1wk working along side another NA, & the 4th week is your shift. 2nd & 3rd shifts are the only openings. The job is at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ part of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System.

I worked there when I 1st got out of High School in the Purchasing Dept, its a great hospital & great people. I loved it so much I drove the extra distance just to deliver there this May. Brand New ER, L&D, robotic pharmacy, & Cardiac Cath Lab.

Good Luck!

Mookaduke,

Thank you sooo much for the information. I will definately check it out!

It is a great opportunity to get paid while training and then you are guaranteed a position, what else can you ask for....

Good luck to you!

Hello all,

Im sorry Im a year late in posting. I just graduated nursing so forgive me with the late response. When I first started my career in healthcare I worked as a CNA at RIMM Rehabilitation in morristown, nj. I was getting paid $19.50/hr with no benifits. I went to Ace Healthcare Training Institute in Dover, NJ (Morris County) I think they have another school in Union County as well. To be honest, the teacher definitely inspired me to become the nurse I am today. The school definitely did everything by the book. They actually teach you more than what you should know which is a good thing IMO. It really helped me prepare for once i got into Nursing 1. They taught me all the basics i.e Bedmaking, vital signs, range of motions..

Also, please note. If you attend a fully accredited school you can get your money reimbursed to you upon signing a contract with a hospital or nursing home.

What I loved about the school was that it was family oriented, fast and really prepared me to take the state board examination. Join the facebook fan page to support this school. Highly recommended to friends and family! :yeah:

Now, Ive heard of schools like "Karing with Kindness" that is in Beachwood, NJ. Please DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I have had friends that told me they don't supply the book and the teacher isn't even an RN. To make matters worse, the professor is hardly even there!

Anyways-- Good Luck to all!

oh no...i just applied to this cna traing school...950 dollars....i guess i didnt do enough research :crying2:

Hi all. I am seeking your advice here. I am a licensed nurse from the Philippines. I am still waiting for my papers to be approved so I can take NCLEX. It is taking so long. I have been here for almost 2 years doing nothing. When I read your posts, I thought I can make use of my time going into this Nursing Assistant Training at Toms River, NJ. When I read the requirements, they need previous nursing assistant experience which I don't have. I have not tried any work here in US. I seriously don't like to forget how to use my stethoscope. Plus I need to make some money too. What are my chances? Any advice or thought from you guys will be greatly appreciated. Best regards.
