CNA program flu shot

The someone in charge said "It is mandatory that you do your time in a clinical site and the sites have stated they would like all students to have the flu vaccine.".Can I still refuse it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

    I guess that depends on whether the "someone in charge" means, literally, that the clinical sites would like you to have the vaccination, or is just being polite about the clinical sites requiring it (which is more likely).

    They may give you the option to wear a mask and change it every 20 minutes.

    Bigger picture though, do realize that most CNA jobs will require you to have a flu shot yearly. So if its a big problem for you, thats sometime to consider.

    In my CNA class it was mandatory , if you did not get your flu shot before clinicals you were dropped from the program plus we had to get a physical as well .

    You'll need to find out if they would like everyone to have it or are they requiring it. If they are requiring it you will have to get it to do the program. Sometimes sites will allow you to use masks instead. You will have to ask.

    Every healthcare job I've had has required either flu shot or masking for the duration of flu season (usually november through april). If the clinical sites mandate flu shots your best route is to get it. If you cannot get the shot for some reason you will need to comply with whatever procedures they have in place for those who do not get the shot (masking or being ineligible for clinical depending on the program).
