Is anyone getting one? I first thought it would be a waste of money but I'm having second thoughts because I need something to show for all the blood, sweat, and tears I shed during nursing school:)! I've seen some really nice ones that cost a bundle, but there's no way I'm spending $800+ on a ring so I'm still looking around at sources outside the university. They have some cool ones at Jostens.com but they are also very expensive.
I like this one http://www.jostens.com/rings/College/mens/traditional/curriculum_stadium.asp
And this one

Does anyone know of another website where they have rings that aren't so expensive?
I still can't believe it. After 4 loooong years. I'm almost at the end! (T., doing the happy dance!)

Hey Tony,
You definatley need a ring. I don't know if you ever shop at WalMart but they sell class rings as well and I am sure that they are substantially less. My neice got her class ring from them and it was really nice and didn't look cheap at all.
I went to a two year ADN program so we didn't get to purchase a ring. However, we did order a pin. I like you was not going to order one at first b/c of the expense of it along with all the other money that is due the last semester for BNE, test, etc. So glad I did order one though b/c I know it will be special and mean alot to me while I am out working.
Congratulations on being done with school!! And get the ring!!

Go for a class ring. It will be something you will always treasure. My school doesn't do class rings in the UK so I am going to get mine made. :balloons:

I got my H.S. class ring at Walmart. It looks exactly like Jostens for a whole lot cheaper. I couldn't afford one in H.S. but my mother and I put it on layaway and little by little payed for it before graduation. No one will ever know it was from wallyworld
Good luck,

Go for it Tony -- I'm also feeling way more sentimental about finishing school than I thought I would be! :chuckle
I like that curriculum signet ring you picked out ...
Don't really know about lower cost rings - is there a knowledgeable jeweler you could ask?
Definitely get yourself something - congrats to you. :)

I would advise against getting a ring -- unless your heart is completely set on it and/or the expense is of no concern. Many work environments do not allow you to wear a ring because of the germs that tend to hide in and around them. Others at least discourage the wearing of rings even if they allow it. It would be shame to spend a lot of money for something that will spend most of its time sitting in a box unseen.
The best thing for nursing students would be for your class to agree on some other symbol that you could all purchase that would have the same meaning as a ring -- but that would be something you could get more use out of. This is particularly true as so many graduating students have educational loans to pay off, etc. and can't really afford to splurge on something that might not be practical.
Best wishes for a long and happy career,

Walmart gold has been found to be superior and much cheaper than gold at jewelers. I always get my jewelry there!

But that entails giving money to Walmart, which I avoid whenever possible.

Skip the ring, invest in malpractice insurance.
