Cheater

Published

A girl in my chem class is quite the cheater. During quizzes and tests she has her cell under the desk googling answers. I only know this because she sits at the same desk as me and we are in the back of the room. She doesn't pay attention in the class and doesn't understand any of the info. She also brags about her tutor doing her homework. Anyway, with final exam coming up should I continue to bite my tongue and not tell the teacher like I have all semester or should I give my teacher a heads up and let her know about the girls cheating ways. I transfer after this semester to a nursing school from my community college and unfortunately this girl got into the same program as me or else I would ignore it. I will for sure be avoiding her next year but I find cheaters to be pretty pathetic and it irritates me to know end that someone would not even try to learn the info and then cheat.

If you're feeling devilish, you could get a cell phone jammer.

Normally I would say leave it alone and she'll be her own undoing. But since you say she'll be going to nursing school I'd hate for her to take the spot of someone who worked hard and honestly.

I like it! I'd do it!

I agree. This is important because what if she gets YOUR spot in the program and you're told to try again next semester :-(

I wouldn't want her as my nurse!

I would tell the instructor.

I have wanted to tell my instructor all semester but didn't want to be a 'tattle tale' usually I am very honest and would have told her to knock it off but since she was going to nursing school with me at a small school I hated her to spread something about me when we started there. :(

Love the cell jammer tip. Too bad I didn't think of

it months ago.

I know what you're saying. At this point I wouldn't bring it up to the student in case she ends up at your nursing school, but bringing it up to the instructor might be an option. I don't see how it would hurt. It's the end of the semester and it isn't like you keep running to the instructor telling him or her all the bad things people in the class are doing. (I assume you haven't.) Just tell the instructor and leave him or her to do something or not do something about it. And ask to remain anonymous.

On the other hand, you could leave it alone and wait until she fails the first semester of nursing school. See, I would think your instructor would be a lot more proactive about cheating. Most of mine walk around and between desks during tests. Maybe the nursing school will be stricter and catch her during the first couple of weeks.

I would say something. Or try to leave an anonymous note in your professor's school mailbox? I can't stand cheating & have been lucky that I have not witnessed any obvious cheating while in college.

I think she will get caught in the nursing program because the work will come back up that she failed to learn but then again I would hate to know that an honest person missed a slot.
