7 years ago I started pre-requisites for a
BSN program part time while working full-
time and caring for my then 2yr old and 1
year old. Due to hardships of life and
becoming a single mother I stopped going
to school. I have struggled immensely but
never lost hope in pursuing my goals. I AM fighting
against poverty, I AM fighting against what statistics says about single mothers.. I AM fighting against my own self doubt and fear of failing out of this nursing program... I AM chasing happiness as I start my first day of Nursing School tomorrow... Are You? If you are a believer please say a prayer for me.. have a blessed day my fellow AN Family

Congratulations!!! It's great to hear about someone starting this wonderful journey. Please always ask the people around you who you can trust for support. Nursing school gets hard. YouTube has a lot of great study videos, please utilize those and if you ever need to vent, this is a great place too.
Thank you so much. I'm sure YouTube will be of great help. I'm so excited and nervous to finally get things going. Have a great day

My best wishes to you! In 2001 I got accepted to a BSN program. I never was able to start due to a domestic violence situation which destroyed my credit history, immigration status, and almost life. I thought I'd never recover. But I got a chance again - i just got admitted to MSN-CNL bridge program at the same university. :) Good luck!

Good for you !!! I feel like understanding "survival mode " gives people a lot of character and helps with long term happiness. My friend and I were just talking about that, my mother went through the same thing with me. She pulled me and her out of poverty which gave me a much better chance in life. Just watching her move mountains helped me learn to do the same! You've got this !!!
Ooh my goodness.. congratulations and I wish you nothing but the best â¤ï¸
What an absolute blessing! I want to do the same for my kids

I got through nursing school (ASN) as a single mother, worked full time; then worked 2 jobs while doing BSN and MSN. My sons were grown and gone by the time MSN rolled around, but they are proud of my work ethic
