Charge pay

How much do you get for charge pay? We get 8%. We have a cap of $2.00 per hour, and a regular charge nurse who gets 10%. She works 4 day a week so we get the other 3. No way is it worth a few bucks! Mabey time and a half...............I like to have my assignment, and not worry about all the other stuff, pt complaints, staff whining, ....

$1.70 an hour where I work. How much extra per hour would make it worth it, really?

A dollar an hour for us, and we do charge as well as a patient assighnment on my shift. Works out to about five bucks extra a shift after taxes...

$2.00/hour where I work at and it is only for those couple of nurses that have been selected and trained. When the charge nurse is out and someone else does charge...they get nothing!! NADA!!!

Extra money for Charge Nurses?!!??

Some one gets extra money for Charge Nurses!!??!!

Wow.

How much does unstoppable BS equate to...exactly?

We now get $3.00 per hour.:p

I work for a Level 1 Trauma Center and we get $2.00/hr. as a relief charge. We have 2 "shift coordinators" for every shift as of this last month. That means that we will only have to do relief charge 1-2 X's per week.

I don't do charge but where I work the charge RN's get $1.00. I don't think it is worth it. I think they should get double pay for it.

We get absolutely nothing and completely NOT worth it. Yet, other hospitals in my health system get "hazard" pay. Where's the equity it that!

In this area you don't get extra pay for working charge, as far as I know.

Nurses who work charge at my facility don't recieve extra compensation.

Infact we often have to take an assignment in addition to charge duties

Where I work we have a union. Many times I hear the charge nurses say they only get a dollar extra an hour. What they do not say is they are considered part of management and pay 0 union dues.So that dollar an hour is actually a much heftier sum.

Regular charge nurses get $1/hr . . . those of us who step up, and do charge when a regular is not available, get 50 cents/hr. Let's see, that's $4/shift less taxes . . . . I agree, it is not worth remembering the code . . . . ****Nothing changes until YOU change it****

one hundred pennies

Sounds better when put that way, I think....
