Hi FutureRN Michael I am not the person who wrote the post that prompted your question, but I am a Michigan psych nurse. Former Governor closed 10 of 15 state psychiatric hospitals, (with another closing recently), resulting in great overburdening of our Community Mental Health organizations. This has resulted is patients becoming destabilized, and leading to more frequent, short hospitalizations. Its a challenge. . . .

Regular charge nurses get $1/hr . . . those of us who step up, and do charge when a regular is not available, get 50 cents/hr. Let's see, that's $4/shift less taxes . . . . I agree, it is not worth remembering the code . . . . ****Nothing changes until YOU change it****
