Cen

Well... I have never seen such an ornery, convoluted test, but I DID IT!!

Nothing on that test resembled anything I studied - I swear it was worse than NCLEX, and I walked out sure that I failed, but I PASSED.

Ok just had to tell folks - I was so excited! But what a miserable test!

Anyone else think it was really really hard, or just me?

Phew!

Congrats! It is a horribly hard test. My brain was twisted in every direction, after I took it. And you did it!!!!!:monkeydance:

Congrats on your pass!

Thanks! My non-nursing friends don't understand how tough this was - I know you all do - thank you!!

What is Cen? I am a first semester, first year nursing student and don't know what it is.

Thanks for helping out someone who is still ignorant.

(Certified Emergency Nurse exam.) I wasn't sure I had passed when I took it, and I didn't realise that you got your results right then. I remember walking out, and as the lady handed me a piece of paper, she glanced down at it first, then looked up at me and said congratulations. I went out to my car and screamed and laughed like a crazy woman! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Go RN, CEN!

It was, at best, an ODD test. I passed in 03 - so I'll re-take it next year for recert. The nomenclature gets a bit long with all the certs, but be proud and use it! I hope your facility "recognizes" it with $, but at the least get your badge changed to reflect your BOARD CERTIFICATION IN EMERGENCY NURSING!

Yeah!!!!!

Congrats!

I've been putting off taking the CEN for awhile now, but will probably get my rear in gear when I get my tax returns...

*sigh*

Hope I don't vomit on the keyboard like I wanted to after NCLEX!

Thank you for replying!

I apologize for not adding my congratulations to everyone else's. You sound so happy! And I am happy for you!:smiley_aa

They make it difficult that way because they get a perverse pleasure from it

Thanks all for the sweet words.

I DO wonder, though, do only sadists make up the test questions? Good Lord! I can't even remember the questions now, they were so odd, convoluted and bizarre.

Eek - gonna go into work tonite and look for stuff that was on the exam just for fun - like license plate bingo on long car rides LOL.

:wink2:

I have done the CEN exam 3 times and it never gets any better. I hate the fact that you do 250 questions and 50 do not count. Hell my brain is fried at 100 questions.

i took my cen in '05 and personally i thought the practice tests were harder than the real thing (other than the stress factor).

when i took it i was working in a teaching hospital. i tried to get a new tag with cen or rnc on it and was told that they don't recognize it. no pay raise either. in fact the only other cen's were some of the flight nurses.

i just started working prn at a small community hospital and at least they put cen on my badge. sad that a teaching hospital doesn't
