Interrupted family processes r/t CO's disease and functional transitioning AMB:
Blepharospams, depression, anxiety, possible myasthenia gravis (pt scheduled for tensilon test on 9/20 so results are still pending), pt's inability to work, current disability status, frequent hospitalizations and doctor visits, pt states, "my loss of functional ability makes me feel useless--I can't cook or see my kids' faces anymore"
Above is my nursing diagnosis and I need three nursing interventions with rationales. Can you help me???!

Somebody please move this thread before it explodes! Thank you!
To the OP: Don't post homework help requests here in this forum. The nurses get a bit riled about it.
I'd try to point you in the right direction, but to be honest, I suck at the psychosocial nursing diagnoses. If you don't have a careplan book, get yourself to a bookstore, pronto. :)
You might also want to take a look at the student tab/nursing student assistance forum. The stickies there are great.

I suggest intervention involving allowing kids to visit and interact with pt..if young have them draw with pt's hands over theirs, if older have them read topt or repeat recipes they think should be tried, this would give pt more input into her previous role and make her feel more useful.
Intervention for social work or clergy or psych to allow pt to vent depression/anxiety feelings and possible things that may help her deal more effectively, possible med management.
Also any chance to get pt out of room or even outside for short time????

When I was in school, I had to buy a nursing care plan book. It pretty much outlined diagnoses and interventions related to all of them. Unlike a forum, I could cite it easily and without ruining my grade. In all seriousness, and not just in the interest of being a jerk, do you have a book like this? Considering all of the care plans you'll do throughout your nursing school career, I highly recommend it.

For one, you would need to intervene with ADL's. Just use your brain for some others.
