CA Spring 2012 New Grad

I'll be graduating in Dec with BSN as well and am really hoping for a So-Cal job! I'm from Nor-Cal but am in school in Nebraska, so I'm hoping that they still kinda consider me in-state haha! My top choices are CHOC, Loma Linda, and UCLA. My biggest worry is lack of any CNA experience, but I do have a lot of in-patient volunteer work on a peds floor. Are you aiming for peds or adults?

What are some good GRAD school, not just in Southern California but in CA??

I am graduating this winter with my BSN and am starting to look into new grad programs in Southern California. I'm hoping that we can use this thread to post information about application and start dates for all the hospitals in the LA, Orange County, and San Diego areas. So far I know that UCLA's application date is October 3rd and the program starts in February/March 2012. Children's LA applications opens September 19th and the program starts March 5th. Let's use each other as resources and work together to keep informed!

It's tough to keep up with all the programs! Children's Hospital Orange County is open NOW! (NICU is closed though.)... Best of luck to you!

fyi! llu children's opened today too! make sure you merge your two letters of rec with your resume as the website only allows for one upload/attachment. they had to delete my app and i had to redo it. glad they let me though! the website says the apps will be disqualified without the letters.. eek! good luck!

Anyone hear anything from CHOC? Almost 2 months since we applied. At least my application has not been rejected.

I know at CHOC that NICU has already completed their hiring and that PICU has done interviews. I also know people have been called for interviews for CVICU and Short Stay. Not sure about the other units

OK, so no word on Med/Surg? Thanks for the update.

I haven't heard personally about people who got called for Med/Surg (no one I know applied to that unit though). Maybe some other users on here can shed some light on the status of Med/Surg. each unit does their hiring separately and slightly different. Oh, I also forgot that they have started Hem/Onc interviews as well.
