Can anyone recommend a good nursing bra that holds and supports? I bought ome bravado but they aren't good IMO. I like a sports bra but one that hooks in the back instead of a pullover. I am having the hardest time finding good nursing bras.
BTW, I am due this week and had my appt. today and everything is perfect. We are limiting my lady partsl exams since I am GBS+. I am feeling tremendous pelvic pressure and my pubic bone feels like it is coming apart. Oh, do I want this baby now. :)

I would consider asking around on a breastfeeding board, to see what people are liking the best. (I usually hear a lot of people like Bravado's- I had one and thought it was ok... I don't have big boobs and I usually just used a pull over sports bra that I lifted to nurse, or none). Have you looked at places like Motherwear? Here's their bras page:

IMO the ones from target that look like sports bras are the best! they were so comfortable that I wanted to keep wearing them even when I stopped nursing. They were totally the best, and also happened to be the cheapest!

My favorite was a bra from Anita. I ended up buying 5 of them at $50+ each but totally worth it.

They have a page where you can match up good bras for your boob type. And all the bras have editorials on them which I have found to be very accurate. Also easy to exchange & return.

It was very soft but had good support- and I'm very large chested when nursing (DDD). I had a Bravado too- and I really didn't like it- I don't think it's nearly supportive enough for large chested moms.

I used it mostly to hold pads in place so I wouldn't wake up soaked in the morning. It was very comfy for sleeping or around the house.

If you like back close sports bras I love this one from Champion:

though I never used it for nursing. I think it would probably work well. It gives awesome support.

Motherhood Maternity stores have the best bra selection. Lets put it this way. My daughter is 2 1/2 and stopped breast feeding at 1y/o. I just bought three more last month. I love them so much I kept wearing them after I stopped breast feeding. I went from a B to a D cup and I welcome the support. Never felt more comfortable. The sales ladies really know what will fit your body type well. I highly recommend them!!!

Thanks for the great webpages and bra opinions. I actually went yesterday to the hospital where I am delivering at and got 2 medela bras, which are really nice and soft and 2 medela bras which give decent support. I am going to buy more though. I am 42 H in the medela bras. Who said being big was good? That is why I can't understand why women get best enlargements. :)

I wished I was a A cup. Well, I am due this Saturday and so far nothing. I am okay with it now b/c it gives me the chance to relax and enjoy books. I have been pampering myself this week with a pedicure, haircut, massage and shopping. She comes when she comes but I will let you all know.

Just wanted to give you my point of view: if you were an A cup you wouldn't be able to buy a nursing bra. At all. Anywhere. I mean, sure, no one would notice if I went without a bra:) but I would still like the option LOL.

By the way, if anyone knows where I can find a 34A nursing bra I am open to suggestions...

Might I suggest the "Best Nursing Bra Ever"? Really though, I've heard that their bras are very good. Although most of what I've heard and read is about the "Last Resort Bra" which may be what you need after nursing. They have a rating system based on women's actual experience with the bra even in the different sizes.

I also didn't really like the Bravado bras. I have about 8 (combined!) years of breastfeeding experience and have always liked the Medela seamless bras. Good support and a bit padded to help with show-through. I personally prefer the underwire, but they come in non-underwire too. breakoutbras.com usually has good prices.
