I know that this has been asked before, but I cant seem to find the thread. Does anyone know of a software program that will help with APA format, either free or relatively inexpensive? I have been searching the internet but the cheapest one I can find is almost $60.

Thanks!

Perrla or something like that is the only one I am aware of - I can't use it as it doesn't work with Macs, but from what I understand from my former classmates it is worth every penny.

If you go to apastyle.org, they have a downloadable style helper for $34.95. It works well from my experience, but I highly suggest you buy the APA book to go along with it. There are a lot of little details in APA format!!!

Same here. It is real easy to use also.

There is a textbook called A WRITERS REFERENCE that I used

for my English classes. It has very detailed APA guidelines and examples.

There are also guidelines for other formats. It cost me about 50 dollars

brand new, but on amazon or half.com you can get a used one cheap.

I bought this software. It works very well and it's only $27.95 or so. I haven't had a paper returned yet!

Good luck!

I used PERRLA. I also have the APA style helper, but I would not recommend that one. The PERRLA formats the paper into Word automatically. It also does the in text citations, as well as the reference page. It was not very expensive either. I did not pay over 30 I don't think. I just went to their web site and downloaded it.
