Anyone with held old transcripts?

Im considering doing this because I have an old transcript with a C on it that is really killing me. I'd be more worried about getting found out than feeling guilty.

That particular transcript, from a school I went to a long time ago, only has 2 classes on it ;a Chem with a C and Physio with a B. Both of which I'd like to get rid off so I can retake them without anyone knowing I took them already. (and yes I know about Academic forgiveness but it doesnt work for classes with a grade of C or above.

There's a limit ( as I said in a previous post) of 2 classes you can retake. I'd like to retake 3 -to get my GPA up high enough to guarantee me into the nursing program here (which would be about 3.7 -4.0 for the BSN)

My husband had suggested that I retake them at my current community college to get the higher grade and then just send the University (Im transfering) transcripts from my recent grades. The old transcript I'd like to with old is from a different community college than the one Im at now.

To the best of my knowledge community colleges only print the classes on thier transcripts that you took at THEIR school not any others.

Hope that makes sense....

So has anyone else done this? Does anyone ever get caught? What would happen if you did? It seems like it should be at your discretion anyway, what classes you want to apply to your degree. If you dont wanna use them you shouldnt have too.

That is considered falsifying an application, and grounds to get terminated from the program, if found out. Definitely not suggested.

There is one college I attended that I took two classes at that I never mentioned on any of my other college applications. Nothing will happen if you do this. The colleges you apply to don't go looking to see if you were registered in any other colleges over the years. They have no way to do this anyway. There is no equivalent of a credit report that exists for college attendance--at least none that I know it. Don't be concerned about it. As far as you're concerned--what old community college? Hope that sets your mind at ease.

If you used Federal student aid during the time you attended that other school, it MIGHT show up when you get aid at the new school.

In certain cases if Financial aid communicates with admissions, that may sink you.

I know someone who lost a professional license (not nursing) five years after graduation and into practice because it was discovered that they had withheld a bad transcript. Some mean-spirited SOB turned them in to get ahead. The college yanked the persons degree (fraud) and the licensing agency had no choice but to follow suit.

That being said I know other folks who have "hidden" transcripts and not a thing happened to them.

Remember, we live in an information age. Any idiot or joker could find out your whole life story with just a few pieces of information. GUARD YOUR PRIVATE INFORMATION!

Example, do a Google search using your allnurses username! Google you real name. Heck,Google you telephone number! Hmmmm.....

Do what you feel your conscience will allow and act being able to accept the possible penalties your actions may bring.

Conduct all you affairs this way.

Thank you Daytonite! ;) It seems there are mixed stories on this subject, 9 times out of 10 it probably doesnt matter though.

I guess it is different at every school. I actually mentioned my Electronics degree to my school and why I didn't want to transfer it. They were fine about it. Nothing dishonest, just courses there were not transferable.

Times and locations change. In the past, schools never cared one way or the other. You simply attended any school you wanted and transfered courses only if you wanted to.l
