Anyone expecting to get in Spring '09 for MCCDNP?

I applied in October 2007, and am hoping to just get in period, right now I dont care which program I get accepted to.

I think the most recent person that got accepted in a program was from June 2007 and that was for GC. And the oldest person still waiting placement that has 5 options is from late march 2007.

When do you think they will begin the draw for spring 09? I heard sometime around late september, early october. Anyone know any specifics?

I'm time and date stamped from Oct 2007, and expect to get in this Spring. The placement White Board says they will update the options for Spring 09 mid Sept, and start drwing from there, so hopeing to hear soon!!!

Hi everyone! I applied in Oct 2007 and am hoping to get into Mesa or Gateway. I am praying to get in for spring!! :wink2: Just curious, what was everyone's timestamp? Mine was 8:01:29...

Ohhh. Yeah, I heard mid-October they will draw. I can't wait!!!!! Have you taken HCR240? It's not required but I signed up for it and I definitely would recommend it, I feel like it's really preparing me for nursing school.

No I havent taken HCR 240. I thought that they incorporated Pathophys into the nursing program, i could be wrong though. Once i find out what nursing program i get into i am going to start reviewing my A&P's along with microbiology, just to freshen up a bit.

Right now i am just taking 300 level courses at ASU that will work towards my BSN, so i am staying busy with those.

That's great that you are working towards you BSN. :yeah:I will end up with my BSN but I'm taking my time.

Also, I know that they incorporate Pathophysiology but taking it makes me feel more prepared and less stressed about nursing school. It also is a very interesting class :specs:

My date stamp is June of 07 and I am hoping and praying that I get in for January because I am only applying for the part time programs and there are not a lot of spots. If I were full time any school I would definitely get in, but I guess it just depends on how many people ahead of me want part time.

Hello all new member here and currently a block 3 student at GWCC. I saw someone talking about Pathophysiology not being required and how it has been incorporated into the nursing program. I just thought I would throw my 2 cents out there. Take Pathophys if you have the opportunity! I think they have done us a grave injustice by removing that class from the pre reqs. You will be miles ahead of your fellow nursing students if you have taken a pathophys class!

I really wish I had taken it before I got into the program! :banghead:

Thanks! I am sooo glad I am taking Pathophysiology the semester before I get into the program, it is valuable information that will really prepare me for NS.

Hey pcardone, what do you think so far of the GWCC nursing program?

What is your typical weekly schedule like?

what is your expierence so far with the clincials, pros and cons, and any helpful hints/tips?

Archer, the program has been really good so far. I am in Block 3 as I stated and my typical weekly schedule is crazy.

Mon - Work 06:30 - 16:00, Pharm Class 17:30 - 21:00

Tues - Work 06:30 - 16:00, Study 17:00 - 21:00

Wed - Work 06:30 - 16:00, Nursing Process class from 17:30 - 21:00.

Thurs - Work 06:30 - 16:00, Study 17:00 - 21:00

Fri - Work 06:30 - 16:00, pick PT and do careplan until about 23:00

Sat - Clinicals 06:45 - 17:15. Then relax and do nothing the rest of the night.

Sun - go for morning motorcycle ride then hit the books to be ready for inevitable exam or quiz on Mon.

My best advice to you would be to be dilligent about studying, don't fall behind, and work in study groups. (It seems to help when you study in groups.)

Clinicals and school are what you make of them. If you whine and complain with the rest of the group, you will not have much fun. But if you go in with the attitude of wanting to learn and experience as much as possible, you will have a great time and most likely become a great nurse!
