  1. Congrats on getting in kasey! I am in block 1 at MCC right now and I love it! I actually had Mesa as my only choice because i had heard so many good things about the program. It's a TON of reading and information so be prepared to study ALL the time. Our schedule is lecture mon-tue 9am-11:50am and an extra hour if you take the math and review courses. Wed and thurs we go from 7:30am-3pm. We start clinicals next week and we have 3 different clinical groups all with different times. One group is wed-thurs 6:30-2pm, one is wed-thurs 2-9:30pm and then other is wed-fri 6:30-2pm. The clinicals change every semester though, but I'm pretty sure the lecture times will be the same for you. The professors are wonderful you will love them! Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!
  2. I got accepted into Mesa CC....thanks for all of the info. I will have to take a look at what is on there but that sounds like a pretty good bundle of programs!
  3. hi sweetsmuckers, I also have the blackberry storm and will be starting nursing school this fall. I have been looking at some of the programs that skyscape has...do you think the $179 is worth it to download the nursing constellation plus?? Also, I was looking at it and it says this is only for a 1 year subscription. I just wanted to know if you really think it is worth it before I choose which programs I am going to download. Thanks!! :nuke:
  4. thanks for the insight about block 1 futurern3487!! i am soo excited to start in august! good luck in block 2
  5. mxems, do you know specifically which immunizations we need to have?
  6. If you can afford to take an extra class, I would definately recommend taking patho. while you wait to get into NS. It's definately good information to learn!
  7. Hi sassiebaz, The wait for everyone who applied before 2008 was pretty long, but now since you only need a few classes for your pre-reqs you can apply and then while you are waiting, you can finish the co-reqs while you wait. So I guess the wait won't seem as long and you won't have to take random filler classes in between or just sit around and do nothing... and as far as going the private route, I personally don't think it's worth the cost for those schools, but hey if you can afford it then that's a different story. I think the wait was worth it for the low cost of a community college. Good luck in whatever you decide!! :)
  8. Hey! I got into the Mesa CC 4 semester program today. My datestamp was oct. 22, 2007 8:01:29am. It was actually my only choice. :)
  9. Isn't it the greatest feeling EVER?!? I also thought this day would never come! KMM, we will definately have to keep in touch and meet up before class starts, I'm so happy we will be going together! The next 5 months is gonna go by so slow....:yawn:haha. But that's okay, I'm that much closer to quitting my crappy job!!! Congrats to everyone who got in today!
  10. YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT IN!! To Mesa!! I only put one choice and I got it!!!!! I'm so happy you got in too KMM! We will be seeing each other at mesa in the fall!!! Wooohooo for us!!!!:D:D
  11. I am so nervous! I hope they finish soon!
  12. I can't wait 'til tomorrow!! Good Luck to everyone hoping to be placed!!! :heartbeat
  13. HiCalbrunette, The hospitals that i know of that hire nurse externs are Banner and CHW. Banner will hire externs after you complete the second block of nursing school and the CHW hospitals wire hire after the first block. Hope that helps!:) Oh, and they are both paid externships.
  14. Hey KMM03, I am not sure what I am going to put as my other choices...I really don't want to put other choices because I live out in Gilbert near Queen Creek and even Mesa will be somewhat of a commute for me. I was going to put Chandler Gilbert as my second choice but all I've heard is bad things about their program. I am just hoping since my timestamp is pretty close that I will get into Mesa. If not, I'm sure there will be some deferrals from Mesa like there were last semester.... but I guess if I had to I would pick Gateway or Phoenix...I have heard great things about their programs as well. Hopefully we will both get picked for Mesa!!
  15. Hi Chechy, Even though you don't have your application in yet, you can still see what the choices are for fall. here is the website... http://nursing.maricopa.edu/ and then just click on application status to see the choices.
