Any ESFJ's out there...

Nurses General Nursing

I'll be starting a nursing program in the fall. I'm an ESFJ personality type according to the Myers Briggs test and was wondering if there were any other ESFJ's out there. I'm curious to know what specialty your in, how you feel nursing fits with your personality, and anything else you feel like saying.

Thanks

ENTP here. I am most comfortable in critical care - very bossy & a real control 'enthusiast'.

Specializes in Critical Care; LTC.

I'm ENFJ, I'm in LTC, Pre-hospital, Cardiac Critical Care. Alittle of everything I guess. LOL

Specializes in CCU MICU Rapid Response.

ESFJ - "Seller". Most sociable of all types. Nurturer of harmony. Outstanding host or hostesses. 12.3% of total population

I just took the test and got the same answer. I work in critical care- MICU and CCU for adults and geriatrics. Im honestly not sure if it fits my personality.

I am super organized, anal retentive. I like interacting with the families, building rapport, and making them feel better.

I am the type that had to have the house clean before I could sit and study. At work, neatness, cleanliness, and the ability to know where everything is in a pt room is important to me. I hate following messier folks. All my lines and cables have to be untangled...

I'll talk to just about anyone, but only if they talk first, and I have only couple real friends. People fluster me easily and I wear my heart on my sleeve. ~Ivanna

I'm an INF/TJ. I'm a very strong 'I,' and am worried that will work against me in nursing (I'm not in nursing school yet, but am working in a hospital)...but once I'm comfortable with people/situation, I'm very competent and an effective communicator. I just need an adjustment period - and I know sometimes in nursing you don't get one. I'm hoping to go into an ICU/CVICU setting after school, and I know it's going to be a huge challenge for me.

I'm essentially 50/50 F/T...the few times I've taken a myers-briggs I've gotten alternating results in that category.

Ivanna Nurse - great to here that there is another ESFJ in the field. I too am organized. I like my work environment to be neat and clean, it helps me to concentrate better. And I like talking to people as well...I'm sure this skill will come in handy in nursing.

Totally! I think maybe critical care would be a great fit for you. :)

I'm ESFJ. Extravert, Sensor, Feeler, Judger.

I am actually taking pre-req's to get into nursing school. So I've been taking these personality tests to see what careers would suit my personality type. I didn't take the tests before I started nursing. I just wanted to reinforce what I am striving to attain in life. This is 2nd career for me. 30 years old, married, 2 small children. I want what I do to benefit me as well as my family. This information makes me feel even better and motivates me to work even harder to get where I AM GOING.....
